Overall Satisfaction with Wrike

We're a custom solutions provider for generator packages, with R&D as a central component of everyday life. R&D project management and scheduling is by most metrics, nearly impossible. We manage the impossible with Wrike as part of our core infrastructure. I describe it to others as a type of odd marriage between MS Project and Facebook with file management. We use the scheduling components and resource loading features similar to Project, but with the communication pathways and stream components of Facebook. The customization options are nearly endless. Dashboards are one of the best ways to consolidate and organize task assignments I've seen. Time tracking and reporting features are crucial for time KPI tracking. Performance KPIs can be pulled directly from task performance with task tagging and filter settings. File version management helps us to meet our ISO 9001 targets by holding a complete history with version comparison and markup features built into the software. It's not a cheap software, but there is certainly a calculable ROI - an easy yes.

Pros

  • file version control and markup
  • resource planning and projection
  • KPI collection
  • task assignment organization

Cons

  • predecessor behaviors
  • GANTT chart functionality
  • merging old versions of Wrike structures with new versions (blueprint rollout)
  • decreased admin overhead
  • improved KPI tracking
  • improved resource allocation
We have used some of the automation features, but have only dipped our toes in that pool. We're researching how best to leverage those features and plan to improve utilization.
We rely on Wrike to handle task planning, organization, and assignment as our primary source. All task requests, including support ticket creation, are handled through Wrike in order to track all time resource allocations.
Trello's collaboration features were nice, but the rest of the software package was lacking in terms of task management, assignments, scheduling, and file management. The other softwares were lacking in terms of functional collaboration.
