Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

Xactly is currently being used for our sales commissions calculations. It is used by finance and sales. It helped us automate and standardize our commissions processes and gave our sales team a standardized set of statements to view real time results. The tool is flexible and can be used in many different ways.
  • The statements show an easy to understand/customizable view of orders, credits, and commissions. It reduces the amount of effort sales reps need to put in to understanding their payments.
  • The automation that was implemented to connect to SFDC saves us a lot of time and frustration in having to validate and upload order details.
  • The flexibility of the tool helped us change our plans in a way that we couldn't have easily done in Excel.
  • There are some areas where the tool's UI and design are not consistent. In one area, it looks one way, but in another area, it looks different, requiring you to pay attention to what you are doing so that you don't make a mistake or get confused.
  • Some functionality requires work arounds to work the way we want it to. Luckily, it can handle what we need, but it takes more work to get the work around built.
  • The Professional Services team is not the easiest to work with. I prefer to build my own rules/settings. I only need to use them to make changes to our DELTA automation system.
  • Incent has allowed me to process commissions on my own until we reached about 250 sales reps (~20 plan variations). I would not have been able to do the amount of work that I do by myself without a tool that automated a large part of the processes. I only recently hired someone to work with me and feel we could handle hundreds more between the two of us. I would not be as comfortable saying that otherwise.
  • Xactly gave us a platform that allowed our audits to go a lot more smoothly. There was less searching for various documents, and more up front answers which allowed us to spend less time working with auditors and more time processing commissions.
  • Sales reps spend less time figuring out their commissions and more time selling.
I used Xactly Express and it was a nightmare compared to Xactly Incent. Incent is a lot more professional. It's more flexible, has more features, and runs a lot faster and smoother.
Excel is great with flexibility if you do not have a lot of reps or complex plans. However, its not scale-able like Incent is.
It is well suited for rate based plans. It is less suited (though improvements and upgrades are being released) for a percentage of target-based approach of calculating commissions.
