Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Zoom Workplace both for internal meetings when members of our team work from home and for external meetings with partners, clients, vendors, etc. We also use Zoom Workplace to deliver group programs, and I've just started using Zoom Workplace to record Clips to document our processes and share with the team, which is great.

Cons

I wish it were easier to find the Zoom Workplace link in a meeting if I need to send it to someone over slack/email quickly
I find it clunky to have to start a meeting and then invite someone, would prefer a 'call' list of our team
I wish multiple people could own a Zoom Workplace link, access the cloud recordings, etc. We use these for our programs, and if someone is away it's difficult to share the info we need.

Return on Investment

It's allowed us to centralize the platform that our team uses for meetings (hybrid and virtual)
It doesn't integrate well with our other platforms
We use Neat bars and Neat rooms to make Zoom Workplace better for Hybrid meetings

Zoom AI Companion

It's helped a little with meeting notes, but I use a different AI notetaker instead. I haven't found this feature to be terrible, but also not overly useful. Maybe I just haven't explored it enough?

In general, I find AI notetakers are not great at identifying tasks and piecing together context from other conversations - so they usually capture the wrong tasks. Better for transcription and to upload into an AI task manager.

Alternatives Considered

Google Meet and Microsoft Teams

I wasn't involved in the decision. Overall, I find the user interface better than the alternatives, and the video quality better. I haven't reviewed the differences between platforms in a while. I've personally been a Zoom Workplace user since 2016.

For internal teams + external calls, I find Zoom Workplace has strong video capabilities.

As someone who is also a solo-founder with client calls, the paid plans are not worth my investment, and I use my Google video instead, even though overall I find Zoom Workplace video quality to be better. This is because I've found that Zoom Workplace has focused more on enterprise and teams than small and medium sized business owners.
