123FormBuilder (formerly 123ContactForm)

If you have a lot of customer interaction with your site, where you need to collected specific, targeted, situational data, 123FormBuilder is an absolute winner. If your site is more information and perhaps leads to a software platform or other product or service, 123FormBuilder might prove unnecessarily robust for you. Something simpler and cheaper might make more sense for you. But in most cases where you're seeking to collect information from customers, I'd happily recommend 123FormBuilder.

Pros

  • Customizability, particularly with regard to matching website design. This helped things look slick, rather than out of place. The site was seamless with these form additions.
  • Easy UX - not only was I able to work my way through the software easily in no time at all, it was also easy to hand off to others, knowing that it was always a step-by-step process.
  • All the bases were covered - when it came to form creation and data collection, they had fields for everything you could think of, as well as the customizability to add what you needed, where, and when.
  • Easy to create forms.
  • Integrates with Salesforce.
  • Integrates with our payment processing system.

Cons

  • Some employees are intimidated at first. After all, it is html.
  • There is so much functionality that it can be easy for novices to get lost.
  • Will there be more payment flexibility? parents use more of the bank to person payment options.
  • The form functionality is great, but form styling needs improvement. Forms can look slicker.
  • The UI on the back-end is a bit hard to navigate.
  • It would be great to have alerts if a form connector failed.

One major point for us is our migration to a completely Microsoft infrastructure. IN addition to that, the afore mentioned need to ingest external data resources means that we do have our eyes open toward the landscape so that we can fill these needs. This in no way indicates a move away from FormAssembly: their support is first rate, and so far the product has always stood up to the tests we've put it through.

While it's not a true development package and misses some features like ingestion of external data for lists, etc... the product is fast, stable, easy to use, and will suit the needs of anyone needing online form functionality with SalesForce and other connectors available for your marketing needs.

Online Training

I installed 123ContactForm myself and while I had some issues installing it I was able to visit their website and the troubleshooting information they provided in their faq section. They did offer other support if a user needed additional support, but I found the information provided on their website to be more than sufficient

Alternatives Considered

Looked at Zoho Forms, Google Forms, Form Assembly and a couple of others. In general there is a variety of features and it would not be wise to negatively rate any of the others. But purely from a price-feature mix, we chose to use 123ContactForm over the others and in that context it was ideal for us.
We evaluated FormSpring, and Caspio among the products we were interested in. Considering that FormAssembly was available in an on-site version went a long way towards our decision, but frankly, it was just an easier product to use at a very reasonable price for what has the potential to be an enterprise-wide form management tool. Combine that with the powerful capabilities and management options for branding, etc... and it rose as the superior product for the cost.

Return on Investment

  • Faster lead conversion
  • Increased employee efficiency
  • Better customer service
  • Greatly increased time to deliver functional marketing and data collection forms.
  • Decreased time of IT personnel to deliver such solutions.
  • Better customer service as all CS forms are down driven by FormAssembly, the data captured, and regularly reviewed.
