Perfect for keeping track of remote employees, and it isn't detectable. Therefore, employees will act naturally.Also makes note of downtime as well, another plus.Being in a smaller office environment, it's not something I'd use in the office because employees are easier to keep tabs on. ActivTrak definitely has more pluses than minuses.

Forcepoint DLP

There's no way any data can get out of our hands without adjusting the Forcepoint. Any situation that is not in accordance with the configured soon we are warned. After its deployment and trods following the rules, it is much easier to work. In particular, course exam data are very well protected by the tool, something that was constantly leaked before it was carried out.

  • The alarms feature is wonderful. In the past, we have had employees save company files to an external device and we had no idea. Having the ability to trigger an alarm and capture screenshots when this occurs is extremely helpful.
  • The analytics provide a good bit of insight. For example, we have an employee who wasn't getting any work done, because he was constantly evaluating software that would make his job easier. We were easily able to see what he was spending his time on by using reports as well as looking at the dashboard where you are able to view a breakdown of categories.
  • Screen capturing is extremely beneficial. Instead of trying to piece a puzzle together, you can simply view the screenshot.

  • It has predominantly protected us from unauthorized parties and has provided us with better visibility and control over our data.
  • This software has also successfully prevented us from both malicious and accidental tasks which are quite flexible actions when it comes to the violation of DLP policies.
  • This product has been successful in improving compliance and even mitigating compliance violations which further facilitated IT security.
  • I think there is room for improvement as the user interface is slightly rough and difficult to adopt in the beginning. The software also hangs up at a few instances which leads to some wastage of time and annoyance but other than that this software is good. The technical staff should work in the complexities for a better user experience.

  • Agent sometimes stops reporting for no apparent reason, causing discrepancies of data.
  • There is no information about software limitations or restrictions, we found out that the agent doesn't work on older versions of MAC OS.
  • Uninstalling agent from a machine sometimes does not cause it to stop showing as a user on the list, it just stops it from reporting data

  • Forcepoint Technical Support specially for users who go with essential support is challenging to get support on time , Need the ticket to be raised for long before to get support from TAC. However in case of enterprise support its is not like this Technical Person will come with priority basis.
  • However It comes with higher prices, Specially for SMB It is allowed to pay that amount for support only.

We have been fairly happy with the product and how it has worked. We have looked at other vendors for url filter and such and have not found one that meets our needs or does what we have been doing with Websense. The product has been fairly stable and we have only had a few issues in the past. We have all seen that it was one of the highest leaders from the Gartner Group Magic Quadrant for Web Gateways.

The ActivTrak webinars are also helpful to get to know and learn the product. ActivTrak really just works with little effort needed after the initial installation

Support is very easy. Live chat or a ticketing system. The support is helpful and kind.They are experts in their software and with the Employee Activity Tracking space; they know how to make it do what you want it to do and they'll help you do it. We've used their support sparingly. We've found that the software is powerful and feature rich; but also, has great documentation and support is there when we still are needing a nudge.

Support from Forcepoint has been lacking. When calling in with a high priority issue we rarely are able to work with a technician immediately. The queue waits are very long and when you get through there are no support engineers available and we need to wait for a call back for hours it seems.

We selected ActivTrak for ease of use, cost, features and privacy. There is no keylogging in ActivTrak, which can be a violation of HIPAA. Our clients appreciate that ActivTrak tracks employee behavior without outright spying on employees.

Netskope, Digital Guardian. We've stuck with Forcepoint to limit the number of major architectural changes in a given year. If we achieved diminishing marginal returns on its ROI, then we'd change because the prevention is good, but the headache has to be less than the prevention or it needs replacement as a solution.

  • We had to do staff reductions because of COVID. ActivTrak helped us identify employees that either need to be laid or or reassigned [due] to inactivity.
  • We have caught users surfing porn at work and corrected them before it turned into a sexual harassment lawsuit.
  • We have caught data theft before it became a large issue and prevented further theft.

  • The exchange of financial documents with customers creates extreme risk as data loss could result in financial and reputation damage to the customer. The cost of deploying Forcepoint is fractions of pennies compared to the potential financial impact of data loss.
  • There is some administrative overhead associated as false positives are inevitable, requiring a manual review and a potential loss of productivity.
