ADP
I am very happy with ADP services and have recommended the platform many times without issue. We have stayed with them for many years because the service has served us well. There are many choices for how many services you would like to integrate so it can be great for many types of employers

It is extremely suitable for the client since for us they are all US-based companies, even though the main headquarters of our business is in Mexico.

It is less appropriate in terms of usability than taxes, since it does not include adaptability to Mexican legislation, and its deployment through customizations and reports is extremely expensive.

Cons
ADP
  • I would like to see a change in the payroll processing so that when you have to save for later, you don't have to reenter all the information you have already entered.
  • Make it easier for the employees to track their used vacation and PTO hours.

  • Requires a time investment for the learning curve to fully utilize the benefits provided by CS Professional Suite.
  • Older looking UI and aesthetic.

It is much better than the payroll system I used previously. The integrations that RUN has for on-boarding new hires are very convenient when they work properly. It saves a tremendous amount of time being able to email a link to new employees that allows them to enter much of their own demographic information. Payroll feature alerts me when someone's pay is significantly less or more than usual.

Usability
ADP
I have been using this system for years and they have actually made it easier and easier. The system is always making great upgrades that don't necessarily require any additional information or training. I love when I log in and see a new feature or button that I get to use to make my life easier!

The platform is stable even though a version for MacOS is also missed.

In general, the user management and administration process is intuitive and once the roles are defined it is simple and easy.

However, the user experience has become out of date in relation to other web-based platforms currently available on the market.

Reliability and Availability
ADP
We've had very little issue with RUN availability, only a couple times there were outages when least expected which occurred on our actual payroll due date

Performance
ADP
ADP Run loads a bit slowly at times, once I put in my credentials. However, that said, I think my perception of the time it takes is impacted by our "instant gratification" expectation of being able to get into everything quickly.

Support Rating
ADP
At times it takes a few minutes to reach someone and sometimes the ADP automated voice prompt does not recognize my name when I say it. Also, sometimes I am forwarded to different departments and I have to explain my issue 2 or 3 times. It is hard to know whether it is an ADP Run/payroll processing issue versus an ADP Time and Attendance issue. Over the last year or so that I have called ADP, sometimes I am left on hold for a very long time.

I have looked at both of these products and they both have great services but the support I have received from ADP really keeps me here. My rep is amazing and I honestly have not seen anything on another platform that would make me change at this time.

Scalability
ADP
Every summer, we hire three new college interns who have to be entered into the system. They can enter their information themselves, which takes a load off me. The onboarding is quite straightforward, and today's college kids are techy enough to be able to understand it.

Return on Investment
ADP
  • The costs add up with all the services such as running payroll, adding timekeeping, running background checks, and mailing w-2's.
  • We save money on background checks because the first two are free.
  • We lower risk of employee time, penalties, and lawsuits by allowing RUN Powered by ADP® to handle so much of the payroll such as calculations and tax reporting.
