Agile seems suitable if you set up correctly from the get go. Once you have over 10000 contacts it's hard to clean up the list e.g tags. If you want to edit or delete them how can you?

Zoho CRM

Zoho is great for anyone who has to handle a customer database -- large or small. With the customizable views, reports, dashboards, you can be sure that you are getting everything you need from the software. The ability to add customizable modules is also extremely helpful. As for less appropriate scenarios, I truly don't have any. Being a portfolio of companies, we use this across the board... our companies range from large to small, and it's been great for all of them

Pros

  • Agile CRM makes it easy to find out exactly where we are with any potential deal. It tracks notes that we enter directly into the program as well as displays emails and related people and deals with the click of a mouse.
  • Agile CRM has some remarkably capable marketing automation capabilities that we are just tapping into. You can set up drip campaigns, automated responses, and with Zapier, you can do even more.
  • The Kanban style deal board… See exactly where each deal is and where we need to pay attention. In short, it shows us the next right thing to do.

  • Streamlining the process of lead generation from outreach to follow-up to forming partnerships and everything in between.
  • The dashboards and pipeline reports are great for a quick snapshot of where your company stands/what is your company's progress for various desired reports.
  • The customization and formatting of mass emails and being able to save specific templates allows for personalized outreach, without the fear of odd formatting glitches.

Cons

  • The newsletter part is a bit clunky compared to dedicated services like MailChimp or Aweber. It's just not very streamlined and logical.
  • There needs to be more flexibility in importing contacts. Currently, you can only import if you have an email and a name which obviously a lot of systems don't. It makes manipulating data by importing very difficult and the 'having to have a first name' is not even consistent with the system itself.
  • The iPhone/Android app is not quite doing it for me - very hard to navigate currently.

  • The licensing is area that could be improved. You need to really study the different tiers of service to make sure the tier you purchased provids the support you need.
  • Additional workflow / automation rule support would also be appreciated
  • Integration support - particularly with accounting tools like QuickBooks

There was a little bit of a learning curve and some bumps along the way to managing this platform, but AgileCRM appears to be responsive to any challenges that arise, which I consider to be of vital importance.

Zoho CRM is extremely intuitive and allows users complete visibility of sales data through reports/analytics. The platform has wide native integration with other cloud-based business solutions. But, it's fairly simple to write scripts with their publicly available API.

The training sessions are very helpful, because you have specialist that is available to answer any questions, guide you and coach you on how to dominate a certain feature of the platform. That being said,Whenever I have an issue that needs to be resolved, I can send email or call a support line. I usually use the support line.

Each section of the AgileCRM platform has an instructional video that describes in detail all of the features of that section. I found this to be very instructional way to learn about each section. Whenever I had more questions, I could always schedule a conference call with a tutor..

Alternatives Considered

With Agile CRM, I get the most bang for my buck, being a one-man operation. Their selling point that they offer everything you need is very sexy when the budget is limited. At the end of the day, Agile CRM offered a solution to my core business problem (which was centralizing client information) where other platforms do super sexy things, that I really did not need - and most were a lot more expensive.

We evaluated Zoho, HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Salesforce and chose Zoho and HubSpot. Zoho CRM has all of the features that Salesforce and Pipedrive has, but is more affordable than Salesforce and has better UI than Pipedrive. HubSpot has more features for marketers than Zoho, so we use HubSpot for most of our marketing goals and Zoho CRM for both marketing and sales goals.

This products Starts with a free Limited version. You can upgradeTo an affordable paid version with minimal features. There's also an enterprise version which is what I have. It's much more expensive, however it allows me to access the full range of features available.

  • Ease of mind and less stress in the daily work of following up with clients and cases
  • Good starting point for understanding my needs.
  • I can't excuse myself by saying I don't have access to a platform that 'does that, 'because Agile CRM probably does that. (there is a ton of features)
