Audiense
Chose Audiense
I have used a few audience insight tools but I find Audiense has a large mix of data within one platform. For instance, IBM Watson, Demos, Social Listening, Hashtags. It is great to have a lot of insights about an audience in one place to have a holistic understanding.
Chose Audiense
I am not aware of any other tool that allows me to study as well subscriber bases.
Chose Audiense
I use Audiense alongside Pulsar because the integration allows me full control over my data and analysis. The majority of the other platforms don't allow you to create your own audiences or clean your data yourself, but with Audiense I am able to do so.
Chose Audiense
We find both platforms useful, but Audiense has a more user-friendly interface.
Chose Audiense
Every time I have tried to find a swiss army knife kind of solution that does a number of things, I discover that they do many things fine but not the things I need to be done well. That is why I have been with Audiense for over a decade. They have not tried to be all things to …
Chose Audiense
Audiense is more of a data intelligence platform that helps you execute campaigns successfully whereas the other platforms mentioned have very little intelligence built into them.
Chose Audiense
Affinio was slightly more polished, and the automated segment naming was stronger; however, the platform suffered from a lack of development, struggled to see beyond the immediate Twitter data source, and at the time of contract renewal was not a particularly strong offering …

In addition to the accurate and vast information we gather with Audiense, I would like to highlight the service we always receive from them.
Chose Audiense
Not exactly the same product but similar in a social media aspect-- Hootsuite is more about scheduling and organizing your contact while Audiense is more about insights. Together they work great.

Hootsuite Follower Wonk Got these 2 products and Audiense to get social media going.
Social Mention
Chose Social Mention
This is the first one I try. Doesn't work at all.
Chose Social Mention
Social Mention stacks up against these as Social Mention is more reliable for data than others. it provides really nice statistics of reach, influence, sentiment and helps find brand's influences. It is quick and offers a great snapshot of the volume of your Tweets & Twitter …
Chose Social Mention
Hootsuite is very slow as compare to Social Mention, and has less features and updates. Social mention helps you track Tweets and comments quickly. There is good support from the Mention team, and a simple interface that is easy to use. We like the Social Sentiment Analysis of …
Chose Social Mention
Topsy can help users to analyze and search tweets. It is only twitter based whereas Social Mention is based on a lot of social media panels. Users can look for videos, pictures, status, tweets using Social Mention. Social Mention offers a lot more options than Topsy like …
Chose Social Mention
I've also used GroupHigh to evaluate blogs - I like this tool because it gives me exact numbers on impressions and Twitter and Facebook followers. I can also search keywords on this database and search by location to pull blogs with the content and level of …
Chose Social Mention
Social Mention streamed everything together, calculated my sentiment for me, allows me to filter what results I am personally looking for, extract my RSS feed and navigate to one of the channels of buzz.

When you start a strategy and want to discover how the audiense is composed, this is the first step to start exploring and then create your buyer personas with more details from other auxiliary tools (social listening, market research). Audiense is the best way to start exploring. It works better when you are dealing with big social media accounts when you want to explore audiences from a specific country or very specific interests. It’s good to import information from listening tools like Brandwatch to get better results about your audience.

If you are curious about what someone is saying about your brand, this tool helps you to know how your brand is performing on all social media sites. Also seeing the previous results you can predict future performance. This data helps a lot in the future planning. This tool doesn't give perfect results though. Also, it can indicate your sentiments of mentions if they are angry, or happy.

I have been using it for a few years now and I still think it's a pretty competitive tool, although a lot of new interesting tools are coming on the market and I am always on the lookout for new solutions. If it keeps innovating, however, Audiense could stay relevant for some time to come

I love that Social Mention is so easy to use. It does not take a long time to learn how to navigate the site when you need information quickly. I don't use it as much in my new job, but I recommend it for basic monitoring and when you need social media information right away

It doesn't work as well since we changed our name. We used to have a very unique twitter handle etc. so it was easier for social mention to find us. For folks who have unique names it's excellent if you don't it may not be that helpful.

  • The paid-version actually had a negative ROI for us as it would sometimes feed us topically inappropriate articles and didn't allow us to filter by source so as to eliminate inappropriate blogs and inappropriate news sources (like highly politically partisan ones).
