Autodesk Bim 360
Chose Autodesk Bim 360
I think BIM360 has much better quality control tools that are much more streamlined than what is available on Procore. However the RFI, Submittal, Drawings tools in Procore are much easier to use and the drawings are much easier to access and view in the field using Procore. …
Chose Autodesk Bim 360
BIM360 compared to Prolog is comparing apples and oranges. We used these programs to do things the other could not. We used Prolog to handle bids, budget and change orders. While BIM360 we thought was not set up to easily do those options so we used BIM for drawings, …
Chose Autodesk Bim 360
Personally I prefer Procore for reviewing submittals and other documentation for LEED purposes only because that platform holds more of the information we are looking for like drawings as well, all in one place. Newforma has been used from time to time, but Autodesk is …
Chose Autodesk Bim 360
They are all very similar. It seems that Bim360 is easier to manage from the front end, which results in a better experience for all of the end users.
Chose Autodesk Bim 360
Bim360 is a CDE in the overall BIM softwares from Autodesk. If you are using Revit, Navisworks or Building design suite from Autodesk, it's highly recommended that Bim360 be the CDE of choice to get your project into BIM technology.
Procore
Chose Procore
Autodesk Bim 360 is lesser than Procore in my opinion. That's because it is less commonly used and team members need to understand the product before they can jump into action. Almost all of our projects use Procore, which makes it easy for me to search for projects all in on …
Chose Procore
We came from ProLog, and the biggest thing here is collaboration. Whether it is from the field or external, ProLog had zero collaboration options. Our strongest contender when choosing Procore was Bim 360 (or Autodesk Cloud), we in the end decided this product wasn't fully …
Chose Procore
Procore is easier to use than the competition. It is built for intuitive use and not needing a lot of training for end users. It does all of the things it promises to do, including accounting, but doesn't seem to be an accounting software tweaked for project management. Their …

Overall the best single-platform solution right now, but it comes at a high price. Main reason for selecting back in 2016 was integration with accounting/ERP. While Procore has done well improving the product overall, some specific pain points persist and really frustrate …
Chose Procore
Much easier to use. Because I learned Procore first, it set a good foundation of what I should be looking for as I hunt and peck to navigate other program management software.
Chose Procore
Honestly, Procore is the most user-friendly software program out of the ones I have previously or currently use. With other products, it can be hard to find where everything is, and it ends up taking longer to learn all the things you can do with them.
Chose Procore
We first utilized Procore because it was mandated by the Owner. However, after using it for a few years, I've found that it's my preferred platform. It works just as well (if not better!) than the other programs that I've used. It's typically more user-friendly.
Chose Procore
Procore tools are more manageable, customizable, and robust. The licensing scheme is better for us since it provides unlimited users.
Chose Procore
I have used BIM 360 Field to track quality, safety, and BIM issues. I have found Procore to be more reliable and efficient than Procore. The mobile app is also a big improvement.
Chose Procore
We've just started using BIM 360 for VDC Coordination only. As we get further into BIM 360, unsure if it will go any further than that.
Chose Procore
Bim 360 field is great for tracking field issues and equipment installation. However, Autodesk is very behind on document and cost control. They either don’t have it integrated or are just very behind. Procore has everything combined. Procore’s punch list tool is not as good as …

Procore takes all of these programs and combines them into 1. It is very user-friendly and allows subs to see what the contractor wants them to see and nothing more. These other programs have their individual strengths but having all of them together on one platform that has …
Chose Procore
I've used PlanGrid and BIM 360. I think Procore is the best overall tool. It handles all project management aspects at an above average level whereas other programs have higher highs and lower lows.
Chose Procore
Procore seems to be the best option for us. It isn't everything we need, but compared to other platforms it did more and had more value.
Chose Procore
Bim360 as a standalone is not as robust as Procore. Drawings/ document maintenance is a great example. To get a similar result to Procore's drawing management, you would need to use "Bim360 Field", which would have a similar OCR text recognition feature to Procore, but its …
Chose Procore
Procore provides a more inclusive and intuitive interface. There is huge value in having everything in one software.
Chose Procore
We compared Procore to Bim360 and chose Procore for its ease of use and feature set. We are not using BIM so comparing the project management features of Procore to Bim360 was the main factor.
Chose Procore
Bluebeam has a much better mark up and viewing abilities for drawings and submittals and Bim360 has a much better Punch List tool. Other than that Procore does a lot more overall than both of these programs.
Chose Procore
Procore has certainly set the standard for the current demands in the industry for both large and small outfits.
Chose Procore
procore is a great combination of Bim360 and CMiC. It takes the functions from CMiC and the user friendliness from Bim and combines them into one product.
Chose Procore
Procore pretty much takes all great features of the two other programs and brings them all into one platform.
Chose Procore
Procore has a simple user interface similar to PlanGrid but the capabilities of Procore are far more apparent for the price. PlanGrid was our 'go-to' for punchlists and ease-of-use in the field. Procore has tools that are much broader for our company. The submittal and RFI's …

Published

Bim360 and Procore are competitors in the construction software space, but have some key differences. While Procore is designed to be a more comprehensive and all-in-one construction management platform, Bim360 focuses on the business processes and project management aspects of construction.

Bim360’s user base on TrustRadius is primarily mid-sized companies, similar to Procore. However, Procore has over 950 ratings and reviews compared to Bim360’s 30+. Procore is a more popular tool, but Bim360’s specialization should be considered if Procore’s product pieces don’t suit your needs. Bim360 also comes from Autodesk, which is known for its high-quality programs made for designing and engineering across a variety of industries.

Features

Procore’s platform can be broken into 4 different offerings: Preconstruction, Resource Management, Project Management, and Financial Management. Buyers have the option of using only one or a combination of these tools. The Preconstruction offering focuses on prequalification and bid management whereas the Resource Management component helps users with field management. Given its comprehensiveness, Procore users consistently call-out how much they enjoy being able to do everything pertaining to their jobs within one platform.

Bim360 is designed for the “office” side of construction and can compete with Procore the best on all its components except perhaps its field management suite. It also has three different offerings under its name: Build, Coordinate, and Plan. Bim360 users also have the benefit of directly integrating their software with other tools like Revit Cloud Worksharing to facilitate online collaboration.

Limitations

Bim360 users mention that it may not be the most user-friendly tool on the construction software market, namely that others are easier to use. They also mention that Bim360 may not be the most suitable for bidding, controlling a budget, handling submittals, or internal collaboration (may be better suited for contractors).

Similar to Bim360, Procore also has a steep learning curve, however its document management features are highly rated in particular. Another area where Procore could stand to improve according to its users is its drawing and design features. Others also mention that it is a bit expensive.

Pricing

Speaking of Procore’s pricing, its starting price is actually lower than Bim360’s despite its userbase finding it fairly expensive. Procore’s pricing for just its project management component is $375/yr with unlimited users. For a bundle of its project management and financial management components, buyers can expect to pay $549/yr per user. Pricing for the whole platform or more than two components is contingent upon the number of users and which tools are chosen.

Bim360’s pricing starts at $480/yr per user, but buyers also have the option of contact sales for special pricing.

Autodesk Bim 360 is well suited to the majority of construction projects in my opinion. On the construction side I could see how the straightforward nature of the platform would be well liked. The new update with the widgets is a great touch and allows for ease of site visits by showcasing good to know info like project location on a map and the local weather. You can also customize the "widgets" as you see fit to add more information if necessary to the home screen. From my experience as a LEED consultant, Bim 360 does not differ much from other platforms used for submittal review like Procore. It is easy enough to search for what you want but searches do take a while and you need to move the cursor over every time you search and do not find what you're looking for, which seems very unnecessary. Overall it is fine for reviewing documentation but isn't anything extraordinary.

To adapt to Procore features working concepts is an easy and flexible capability that allows free access to all the project data and the distribution of reports across the entire team's professionals is quick and very simple. The tool also gives the ability to budget and plan the project resources and the expense management functions on Procore are excellent.

Pros
Autodesk
  • Live updates between design teams. This keeps the team up to date for quicker design and frees up personnel from having to do file transfers.
  • The cloud-based platform gives your company a little bit of a break on computer requirements.
  • Allows multiple offices and/or cloud-based consultants to collaborate on a design as if they are one office or one company.

Cons
Autodesk
  • Bim360 is extremely unintuitive and frequently confusing to end users.
  • There are multiple avenues of sharing and collaboration for models and information. The advantages/disadvantages of each and how to perform even the most basic of tasks requires extensive training and mentoring for even the most advanced of users.
  • There are many enormous limitations and constraints to BIM 360 that are not immediately obvious and even contrary to published marketing materials and even product naming.
  • Development cycles of the product are seemingly monthly, but incredibly minor. This makes the desperately-needed and glaringly obvious massive usability, capability, and performance improvements into deal-breakers and hair pulling events. Change cannot come fast enough.
  • There are no integrations into Microsoft's Azure AD SSO or other 3rd party SSOs available for SMBs. This makes the provided MFA a huge headache for all SMBs.
  • There are no integrations into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem for SharePoint/OneDrive or Outlook. This is desperately needed for most organizations using Bim360.

  • Downloading drawing sets sometimes involves an extra step that holds up the process
  • The dashboard is simplistic to the point that I don't feel like I am getting enough information about a specific project from the get-go
  • Granting access to a project on Procore is not very straightforward as a consultant- restrictions sometimes cause hold-ups

AutoDesk support is slow and if you are not an enterprise customer they will likely tell you to go to forums and post for help pushing the support on the high-level end-users (some of which are AutoDesk employees). Procore does have a feedback forum where you can suggest new or modified functionality. They also have support chat that you can utilize to get immediate responses. The feedback forum is great, but sometimes it feels like the development is slow or stalled on suggestions. The chat function is pretty good and the reps are knowledgeable. If they are unable to answer my question they follow-up through email very quickly. I am very satisfied with Procore's support. As a Procore customer you are also assigned to a Procore Customer Success team. I haven't had to reach out to them very much, but if I need to escalate an issue they are always available. I don't give support a 10 because of the slow or ambiguous responses I have received through the feedback forum. The hardest part about the implementation of Procore was getting all of our subcontractors uploaded into Procore and getting the correct contacts in for bidding. All of this information was with different people throughout our company, so getting it all into Procore and making sure it was correct was quite a challenge and caused the most growing pains for us. It was one of the reasons we had to wait to implement bidding because we couldn’t take the risk of sending out RFPs to people that weren’t correct or weren’t going to use Procore.

The saving in reduced field changes/mistakes quickly paid for the license plus some. The software allows for easy data collection, especially at project completion for field software by checklist creation. Furthermore, the internal punch-list tracking, tracking completion lists and punch lists created for us by others is optimal compared to the competition. We chose Bim360 over other options due to its ability to import out of other software programs directly into the system, adding reports in one location and then distributing it to subcontractors and internally from there to fix deficiencies. It does the tracking, importing, markups of pictures and document viewing well and fulfills our needs.

Autodesk
  • Positively we use for all safety items, so its potential to save money is really something cannot be quantified. It has helped document trends, big items leading trends and odd ball cases which overall helps perfecting process to eliminate those trends and save time.
  • Negative impact is we need to pay for another program to handle budget, submittals and bidding so we are paying for two systems and paying for all employees to learn each system and possible make errors since there are differences in the systems.

  • We've definitely become more efficient since using Procore. We were previously doing everything via Excel spreadsheets or Word documents. Now most of our operational processes are through Procore.
  • We save time in the field and in the office as there is now a flow of activities so everyone is on the same page.
  • We manage more projects (whether they are in construction or in bidding stage) more effectively because now we have one place to manage all aspects of it.
