File Sharing & Management
Comparison of File Sharing & Management features of Product A and Product B
Discord works phenomenally if you want a chat platform that is free, quick to set up, and very flexible in the ways you can start using it. It doesn't require a complex set of logins for different servers and confusion about adding new members, or tough pricing right out of the gate. If you prefer to view full conversations all in one place without them "splintering" off into branches that are missed, Discord works great for this. All in all, Discord is great for startup companies or lean working companies, but it does not lend itself as well for larger, traditional "corporate" enterprises.
[Discourse is by] far the best online forum platform in the industry. It may be a little pricey for people looking for a cheap option for their hobby forum, but for any type of business that relies on a forum, the pricing is more than fair.
Backlog is one of the best management and collaboration tools available in the market for better managing of resources at the workplace.
I have been using this platform for a very long time and it has been helping me a lot to manage the business processes, manage employees, managing leads on different projects, and coordinating with colleagues.
It has been helping me a lot to check the issue in the project completion.
It gives me real-time status on the project/gives right insights of the system.
One to many Communications to ensure that we can quickly get messages out when we have to.
Quick polling of questions and issues
The ability to gate channels so we can focus on folks that we know are stakeholders gives them an added feeling of belonging and that they have a say in the direction of projects.
User Privileges : Teams, Trust Levels, Moderation, Private and Public Threads make it possible to have as much transparency, privacy or power decentralization as one wishes.
Gamification: Badges and Achievements can be customized for User Activity and frequent readers and writers.
Mailing List mode: Users can choose to use forum threads without the User Interface by subscribing via mailing list mode.
Better volume balancing between members on a call.
More customizability of the notification sound for each server. It would be nice to set each of my important servers with a different notification sound.
More expansive note section when you view another user's profile. I'd like to be able to contain more information there in a more organized way.
It just works, and works well. Very rarely does anything go wrong, and I can't remember the last outage (sure there's been some but very rare and not something I even think about or worry about). Desktop clients, web access, mobile clients - the lot. Very happy with our easy it is to use.
There is plenty of online documentation and knowledge base articles. As well as having an open API to be able to tie it into other products makes it a really viable solution for any business. I have never had to contact support, any questions which I have need answered can be found in the documentation,
Backlog has all of the top-notch features to increase productivity, visibility, and project tracking. Backlog is easy to use. I first just logged in to the platform and it was [ready] to go. I easily started working on it and it started giving me the bugs’ details on our project. Always available for queries. Listen to the queries very attentively and try to give a solution on the go if applicable. Otherwise, take some time and respond with the advanced workable solution in the limited time frame.
I like Slack for more professional settings, but Discord is excellent for casual groups, especially when a few people do not have iPhones. They're very similar, but I think there are a lot of Discord features I don't take advantage of, mainly because there seems to be so much in the sidebar that overwhelms me a bit.
Vanilla's mobile functionality was downright awful and it felt like it was stuck in the 2000s. While they have similar features, Discourse blows them away in almost every department. We don't regret switching at all.
Community Members are eager to jump into the discussion.
Conversations can be tracked easier without the risk of being lost in a sea of messages as people tend to construct their posts more carefully than on any workspace messenger.
It's open source and configurable with many other add-ons to help integration with other services.
