Board is a useful tool with a great set of features. We migrated from human apps to board and we find it relatively fast in search results and better-managed threads and forums. There are some areas, such as UI and interactions which could be improved but overall a great product. The learning section is also pretty good.
Prophix is a flexible tool and the people are friendly. From the outset, I've felt that they genuinely have my interests in mind. I didn't feel rushed to make a decision, like some other vendors. However, the team is slow to respond/innovate on issues and I've wasted time in many areas. We have received bad advice on numerous occasions, leading us to rebuild certain components. For example, it was communicated to us we could budget in USD but that turned into a huge headache when we had to redo several thousand lines of budget into the correct local currency. The product interfaces well with our ERP, however structure changes (new dept, office, etc) are not automated and require constant updates within Model Manager. This can be time consuming and create differences when actuals are pushed from the ERP if a change is not updated in Prophix. Reporting is customizable and fairly easy to use.
ONU has benefitted by moving away from a centralized, Excel-based budget process by implementing Prophix to a decentralized process that engages budget managers in the development of the University's budget.
Prophix offers tremendous flexibility in reporting that is not available through our ERP system.
Prophix is very adaptable to many different types of industries. Its flexibility and adaptability is one of its biggest strengths.
The ability to set up workflows for a variety of tasks within Prophix is very beneficial for tracking purposes.
More flexibility in how accounts roll-up (children added together = parent total; sometimes I need to average the children to get the parent, but that is not a current feature)
I wish ad hoc analysis was available for standard users
Board is a fantastic product for swift BI solution delivery when compared with its peers. Ease of use, support and integration with Microsoft Office Addin open a wide horizon of opportunities for further enhancements to solutions. Easy bespoke app development capabilities make it a winner for us. BOARD is just like a white canvas, it lets you explore your creative side while designing and delivering a solution
The system works well for us, and meets all of our needs. All of our future plans can and will be achieved within Prophix, so there is no need to pursue another product. Prophix has continuously proven to improve their product over the years, which provides an even higher level of confidence in this tool, and future developments
From a user perspective, Board is quite simple to use. You can evaluate the presentation of the data, the navigation, the configuration of the users, the selection of the data etc ... It would have a better rating if it were even more intuitive as regards the construction of a project, starting from the database, to the info-cubes, to entities, to data acquisition procedures from other servers.
The data can be sliced and diced many ways, and each user is able to do it however they like. It is easy to create or run existing reports. We have made many of our processes more efficient, and Prophix has allowed us to save more time than you can imagine. We are able to use Prophix for Expense tracking, Expense and Capital planning, reforecasting, Compensation planning, Project tracking, Expense allocation, GAAP PLOB reporting, and still have several more tasks to implement through Prophix
We deployed in the cloud. Prophix uses AWS hosting and uptime is over 99%. There are occasional outages and scheduled processes don't run due to them, but that's not a problem unique to Prophix. And that happens maybe once or twice a year.
Prophix has always performed consistently. We are using on-premise so many factors can contribute to slower than desired performance, most having nothing to do with Prophix itself. If we move to the web-client cloud based solution I believe performance will even be better.
The only time I needed assistance was due to a problem in the prints: the colors of the brochures as they were on the screen were not reproduced in the print, but a series of standard colors were reproduced. This fact made colored numbers on a colored background illegible. From the assistance they confirmed that it was a problem of version 10.2 that occurred when leaving the brochures with the default colors proposed by Board. To obtain the desired colors, they had to be personalized ... I didn't like the solution very much and the technician who recommended it didn't like me either, but they would have solved the problem with the following versions. In any case, the assistance was quick and effective even if not exactly efficient.
The Prophix staff is very helpful and quick to respond. I like that they teach me instead of doing it for me when possible, so I don't have to contact them as often! Never talked to anyone at Prophix that I didn't respect or think highly of! Very professional, great customer service!
Board is fairly simple and straight forward. Advance training on workflows and procedures is a good one but the training content only touches through the interesting areas. training content needs to cover a few areas more in-depth
The initial integration consultant was very helpful in making sure we were set up with all the essential uses we required: reporting/budgeting/forecasting. There was a learning curve but our consultant made it very easy to understand and helped me be comfortable in my Global Admin role in the system. Even after integration, we were given support whenever I came up with an idea I would get in touch and I would be trained on how I can implement it.
We used our system and created a test cube to work with our own data. We ran through the different functions of Prophix and covered alot of material. We did two sessions a week, with homework tasks assigned. We were able to ask questions and cover any questions during the followup sessions.
The problem of user profiling in our context is certainly quite complex. The complexity is given by the fact that the company is divided territorially into logistic points of sale, but at the same time they are virtually divided into divisions (or specific implementation areas) and points of sale of competence. The same operator can have access to data at different logistic sales points, sales points of competence and divisions.
Prophix Consulting should bring, in house, chargeable expertise in Oracle EBS table access for Drill Across and provide reasonable limits on dimension member combinations so there are no unreasonable expectations about the application of multi dimensional cubes to detail, such as revenue by product and customer.
Board has been more complete when compared to Anaplan. Although I didn't participate in the buying decision of any of those products I have used both and by far Board just has more features. It's more than a CPM, it's BI and CPM put together. If I had to make a choice now it would be Board.
Workday Adaptive Planning had some excellent looking features such as report design and processing speed and efficiency. Fiserv Prologue really excels at providing banking specific functionality built-in. We ultimately felt the Prophix provides the best blend of the other two's strengths and did so with a great value for the price and excellent customer service through sales, product, marketing and integration.
We are a medium sized company, but the structure of Prophix would seemingly adapt to whatever sized organization you have. It also can be applied in any area of an enterprise that needs performance management, whether it involves financial data or not. The potential for application within the enterprise is really only limited by you imagination.
Board facilitates proactive decision making - it gives all the insights of the company's needs, which includes predictive analytics and manipulation of data to make different types of reports.
Easy to use for non-programmer and integration with other software is seamless. It has [the] ability to handle large amounts of data.
The greatest impact Prophix has had is provided useful data for business decisions, especially with variance analysis and real time production data.
Prophix has saved our company a considerable amount of time during our budgeting/forecast process as well as reporting actuals and variance to managers.
