Cloud Computing Security Features
Comparison of Cloud Computing Security Features features of Product A and Product B
Cohesity has been awesome. The performance (speed) that it has been able to provide has actually given me back time every month. I have to test my backups monthly, and the Cloning process that Cohesity has available from it's backup has given me days back each month. It just a few minutes I can have VMs restored for testing and documentation. This took a couple days with the previous vendor.
100% cloud backup solution that was implemented well and easy to use. Great communication from our AE through the process and whenever needed. There is a robust admin web management portal that offers a fairly granular user privilege setup and the ability to add different regions in backup. Druva Security Cloud doesn't require a lot of bandwidth or additional resources for either backups or restores. Users can independently recover their data. We are able to back the files up both individually and at a group level. The support team is 24/7 and easily accessible. Biggest con, in this day and age, is that it would be great to have an admin smartphone application. More details when the backup is running would be nice as well as more customizable reports. Also some cosmetic bugs related to the UX, but nothing huge.
Wiz is well-suited if you want to run real-time scans against resources that were recently patched or configured. It is good to keep track of vulnerabilities found and what can be done to resolve the issues without having to open up multiple tabs. Overall, it is good to keep an eye on how well cloud teams or cloud security teams are doing.
Multi-cloud: Ability of Wiz to integrate with all of our cloud platforms makes it easy to deploy and centralizes our insights into all environments
UI/UX: Wiz's UI is one of, if not -- the best UI I have ever used in a security application. Wiz is able to make it easy to follow and use the application to simplify the normally overcomplicated process of parsing through security information and tools.
Marketing: Hosting meetups such as Wizdom has demonstrated Wiz's investment into its customers by providing us with more encouragement to use the app. The merch, ads, and presentation are above and beyond many companies in the tech industry.
Threat Intel: We rely on Wiz for the latest finds in vulnerabilities across all platforms, and since it is incorporated into the application, it makes this easy and fast to push out necessary steps without going through multiple layers of communication between vendors, cyber governance, security analysts, and developers.
Reporting could always be better- executive-style reports have to be generated from data at multiple points.
Some tasks that could be brought to the UI that today we have to call support on (for example when an NFS mount is still active but we cannot see it from the UI)
They have more ways to improve in Analytics section and UX.
I recommend to have to integrate with the cloud storages cheaper option to store backups which would be tremendous for customers to save snapshots costs.
Love to see Druva Data Resiliency Cloud have a better rbac policy on who can trigger the DR engine.
We have been very pleased with this backup solution. It is fast and reliable, and supports our VMware infrastructure. The company's support has been great, including proactively replacing our nodes when the flash memory was reporting high wear. Support is offered on-shore as well. We plan on continuing to use this product for the foreseeable future.
This is the second company I've brought to Druva. Just today, I was tasked with recovering a file from a user that last saw it 6 months ago. I was able to restore it in under 5 minutes of getting the request. It's really that easy.
Cohesity Helios is very easy to use and the web up is simple to navigate and the main dashboard presents a very good and clear overview summary of protection status, capacity and other vital metrics. If you have multiple clusters you can get a single pane view of overall status which is awesome.
The product is easy to navigate and manage. Setup and configuration is also easy. We did not need to pay for any additional professional services. Our account team worked with use on the integration. It was not complex or difficult to learn how to setup and use. End users also have the ability to log in and manage their own files and emails
The UI is very user-friendly, with documentation available on every page of the application. New users can learn about the product features as they navigate through several different pages, using the instructions at the top of each page, making it quite easy to use.
Like any service, there are scheduled maintenance periods and unscheduled outages, however outages have been very limited and fortunately have not had any impact on our environment.
Page response in the admin center is acceptable- rarely are we waiting for data to load. Backup speeds seem fine, and restore speeds are OK considering it's likely pulling data from cold storage. It often takes 30-60 seconds for the restore to begin transferring files, but speeds are acceptable thereafter
Support is quick to respond but lacks that ongoing responsiveness if the issue is not simple. There will be large gaps in replies if they need to resort to escalation and when there are timezone differences between yourself and the person who picked up the ticket.
We had an issue in my first year that took a long time to fix. The support guy was awesome, took screen shots, filled me in, was professional, but it just took so long. I do think that was an anomaly, but it certainly sticks out nonetheless. Beyond that, we've had pretty good support "relationships" with the reps. They're usually pretty prompt at getting back and quite knowledgeable. Just make sure you have your proxies updated, because that's always step 1!
Implementation from cloud ranger to Druva Data Resiliency Cloud platform was a seamless integration experience to upgrade the policies and license for continual backup/recovery support. This may be one of the best "set it and forget it" apps for backup solutions, that also allow notifications for failures etc...
We looked at Veeam and although it's a great product when we priced out the licensing of both primary and disaster datacenters it became much too expensive. Rubrik is a great product and very similar to Cohesity. In the end, Cohesity had a secondary storage play as well as a better UI and better compatibility with lower tier cloud storage. We also like the way Cohesity did protection jobs vs Rubrik's virtual machine centric backup. CommVault is a product we still use today due to its massive features and the ability for bare metal backups. Cohesity does a much better job in the area of UI simplicity, virtual backup ease, and ease of management.
We evaluated VMWare as a provider and found their dependence on IaaS or on-premises setup was a deal breaker. Being all-cloud really required that we have a cloud-native SaaS backup solution. VMWare and other IaaS and on-prem providers really could not match Druva Data Resiliency Cloud's abilities, at least not that we were able to determine.
We previously used Lacework but transitioned to Wiz as part of our effort to improve cloud security visibility and streamline risk management. While Lacework provided useful insights, we found that Wiz offered a clearer, more intuitive interface and better collaboration features, making it easier for both Security and Engineering teams to work together. The Security Graph and automated risk analysis in Wiz have been especially valuable, helping us quickly understand exposures and prioritise fixes. Overall, the transition to Wiz has improved how we manage security risks across our cloud environment.
As the product is cloud based within AWS, scaleability is unlimited. The on-premise units of scale are predictable and allow administrators to scale up / down as needed. In my experience, the flexibility around these appliances, allow organisations to vertically or horizontally scale the environment with confidence and ease. Conversely, it is possible to set thresholds to ensure that organisations do not over commit and manage budgets effectively.
Overall Cohesity professional services like the rest of Cohesity are brilliant. We had some poor advice around how to carve up our Netapp protection jobs which has set us back but it has been acknowledged that a mistake was made by Cohesity and they promise for future engagements with new customers the lessons learnt with us will be integrated into their planning workshop for NAS onboarding.
Using Druva has simplified greatly the backup process. Once fully configured to your business needs, Druva provides a fast amount of backups.
Druva has saved a lot of time for the IT team. Usually time is wasted by staff members searching for a missing email. Now, they reach out to us or use their own Druva account to locate a missing email quickly and easily.
Wiz has saved us a lot of money and headaches. It finds problems we didn't even know we had, like weak passwords and open ports. This helps us fix things before hackers can find them. It's like having a team of security experts working 24/7.
Plus, Wiz can fix some problems itself, saving us time and money. It's a great investment for our business.
Wiz has made our cloud much safer. It helps us find and fix problems quickly, which means we can focus on our core business. It's like having an extra layer of protection for our data and systems.
