Chose ZipRecruiter

Chose ZipRecruiter
In the position I am in now, with the company size, ZR has by far provided the best results for the cost.
Chose ZipRecruiter
I think both are great, but I think that ZipRecruiter wins here as it helps both the applicant and the company find each other to make sure there the position is a perfect fit for both. I also think that ZipRecruiter has a better laid out platform and that their app is more …
Chose ZipRecruiter
I also use Indeed which is the nations leading job site with millions of job listings and millions of applicants. Applicants can upload their resumes or make a resume on Indeed and then apply to any position for free. As an applicant seeking employer, I can filter through …

Glassdoor
[Glassdoor.com] is well suited for larger, older organizations who have had time to build up a reputation in the market and have lots of employees come and go. This means that job seekers will have a lot more data to peruse when it comes to company reviews, interviews, salaries, etc. simply because there is a larger pool of people to provide such information. If you are a small or new organization, [Glassdoor.com] might not be helpful for candidates trying to learn more about your company.

ZipRecruiter
ZipRecruiter comes in very handy when you need top talent from a broader geographical reach quickly and perfectly matching all your criteria. Also very suitable for small to mid-sized organisations with not so heavy talent processing due to the spamming cannot be ideal for a mass recruitment exercise as sorting through tons of resumes to discern the right ones can be overwhelming.

Pros
Glassdoor
  • It's like a mirror to organizations to how its culture, leadership, practices, and processes are perceived by previous and existing employees.
  • It provides key insights about our company, culture, the average salary for each role, and the interview process to the prospective candidates which helps them understand what to expect.
  • Sponsored campaigns can be run to hire candidates especially when hiring is to be done in less time as people browsing on the Glassdoor platform are the ones actively looking for a change.

Cons
Glassdoor
  • Company updates seem to provide little value.
  • Tracking is constantly an issue.

ZipRecruiter
  • Better electronic screening of applicants prior to allowing them to apply for a job (i.e. when licenses are required)
  • When cancelling they require that you call them on the phone (you can't cancel online)
  • I'd prefer that subscriptions were more targeted to my hiring needs

Support Rating
Glassdoor
Support is generally excellent, but there can be a fair amount of bureaucracy at times for requests. The support people are very knowledgeable of the platform, but sales seem to regurgitate the same info when trying to negotiate or upsell a client. Technical issues are rare and usually solved quickly.

Have not had to utilize support recently, but in past instances they have reached out within 12 hours to help rectify any problems or answer any questions about features and functionality. The only issue I ever had with them was trying to clarify, when they previously advertised that they posted on 200+ job boards, if that meant that your job would for sure be posted on each job board. Turns out, by the way, that they only guarantee distribution, not posting

Alternatives Considered
Glassdoor
LinkedIn is the most direct competitor and to be honest Glassdoor's offering does not match up. LinkedIn's product is superior as it is more developed, more precise, you can get more insights as an applicant and as a business. I would use both services but Glassdoor would not be my first choice.

We also use LinkedIn currently for sourcing exempt level candidates and use them to search for candidates. We like to use ZipRecruiter as a complement to LinkedIn. We have used Indeed.com in the past but, found that sponsored jobs are not as cost effective

  • We benefit from being able to see what former employees had to say about our company and how we can rectify any issues.

ZipRecruiter
  • ZipRecruiter did not provide much positive impact. For sponsored posts or during our free trial, we did not receive any qualified candidates. Our ATS posts to the free ZipRecruiter board, and we have had candidates come through there, but have actually hired very few.
  • ZipRecruiter would have had a more negative impact on our ROI had we continued using the paid option. However, we felt it was not worth it and discontinued. Others may find it more beneficial, but for our hiring patterns, it wasn't necessary.
