Well suited scenarios:
As I have mentioned before, Monster is a very good job portal when you are searching for software related candidates. A classic example of that would be a Java developer. You can use the correct keywords and you will definitely find the right candidate. If you need further help, then you can use the filters that are provided on the main page. This will help you to narrow down the search results.
Less appropriate scenarios:
Monster is not a very great place to search for non-technical or non-software requirements. Another issue with the search options that I have in Monster is that I would like to get candidates based on work authorizations. For certain clients, I have certain work authorizations required and there is no filter that is present in Monster for that. Some candidates do not put in their phone number while some others provide the email address of their vendors which is not very accurate information when you are recruiting somebody for a specific job. Expect to find a lot of resumes in image format which will make it tough for you to download and convert it into PDF and Word in the long run.

PeopleMatter is well suited for location based, hourly hiring, and I would highly recommend it for onboarding in any scenario. It is not well suited today for corporate or professional recruiting. The onboarding and compliance components serve all audiences very well.

  • Simplifies the On-boarding process. Easy to find and sort through applicants based on the individual store needs. Ensures all onboarding is complete before moving forward with the new hire.
  • Integrations aid us in ensuring data flows through all systems based on our needs. Ensure the data is correct and duplicate entries no longer need to be made.
  • Customer service is quick to answer and solve your questions.
  • System is simple to use, our restaurant managers love the look and feel of the product.

  • Monster.com can improve on its data redundancy aspect. It frustrates the users to look at or access the same sets of results or the same applications again and again.
  • It can also look into the spam feature. There are ways one can spam it by taking out information.

  • I wish PeopleMatter had an option to limit the visibility of attachments. The MyDocuments section allows one to upload important documents pertaining to the employee but because we use PeopleMatter like an online employee file... there are just some things the employee does not need to see.
  • PeopleMatter has an option to have the employer upload documents they wish new hires to view and sign before their first day (i.e. policies, handbooks, etc.). However, it would be nice to make certain documents available to the job that the document pertains to. For example, there is a delivery driver statement that should be reviewed and signed by delivery drivers but this document shows up for all the other positions too such as for servers, cooks, and bartenders who do not need to read or review this document.

I would definitely renew our use of PeopleMatter, because it would not be beneficial or cost effective for us to go back to doing it in house. If they are willing to listen to our needs and wants and update the program for the better on a regular basis why would you. I feel like we got in on the ground floor and we are evolving with them

Monster is a job portal with rich features and a great depth of database in candidates. They also have a good search option that is able to display the right candidates when you search for them. The only gripe that I have about Monster is that they need to improve their database of candidates when it comes to blue-collar jobs or non-software jobs.

The account reps were easily reachable. I have made different types of recommendation, especially about the communication part. There are videos and a help center with fairly quick response times. I can easily update my career site, and they even have a text to hire option. I have not used that yet, but we are discussing it.

Monster

Monster is a very different database when you compare it with the others that I have used till now. For example, CareerBuilder is very much better than Monster when you are sourcing for non-technical candidates such as drivers or technicians. Dice is very good in terms of the database when you are looking for ERP for SAP candidates. So when you're working on implementation partner projects dies will give you good results. ZipRecruiter is balanced in almost all ways but the quality of candidates is less. Indeed does not have active sourcing available which means that I have to wait until the candidate gets back to me.
The reason I came to use monster is because the database of overall candidates is good and I mostly work with general software related positions

PeopleMatter is straight forward and easy to use - from the administrative side it is virtually an out of the box process. You plug in your locations, jobs, and availabilities, know your Onboarding steps, add a link to your website an go! It's not perfect but this was our first experience with any type of applicant tracking/onboarding/LMS - the reporting is more dynamic now than in the beginning and it is an evolution into what we truly can use!
