I think for a small to midsize company Netchex does a great job keeping up with the big players in the industry and I would for sure recommend them as they have always done a great job for us. They are a great partner when it comes to processing payroll and staying current

  • My Netchex Service Team is very responsive and friendly. They are willing and able to spend the amount of time needed on one call to troubleshoot most problems or answer questions.
  • Their recent updates to the employee dashboard have been well-received by our seasonal team. Employees are able to quickly find what they are looking for which has minimized the amount of requests that my team receives regarding questions on pay or updating personal information.
  • Online W-2 forms have been a game-changer for us since moving to Netchex. Our staff tend to move around a lot and most do not get the mailed copy of their W-2. The electronic consent has saved me hours and hours of time.

  • Benefits - program is not as user-friendly for admin or employee as other HRIS
  • Carrier connections - there are too many issues with the third party
  • Pricing - so many new features that aren't included with the current price, it can be difficult to have your company understand the need for a product due to the additional cost

  • Customer service - extremely long phone hold times, and 2wk response times for email inquiries. Received conflicting instructions and advice, so we make decisions based on a rep's instruction and then the next rep advises us that we have to do it a different way.
  • Implementation - we were advised that the 6-wk lead-time to transition payroll was adequate and yet, they were still actively configuring the account up to the business day prior to us processing our first payroll, leaving essentially ZERO time for training, auditing, etc. We were also told - in writing - that we'd have a dedicated implementation team for 6mos following transition, but oops, the salesman was just wrong about that, so despite implementation never being fully completed or audited, the implementation team pushed us through.
  • Training - there was essentially no training due to the fact that the system wasn't ready for us prior to us having to process payroll. Their "help" feature on the website is cumbersome and difficult to navigate. We'll often read their "guides" and the instructions seem outdated (they describe page layouts that differ from what we see).
  • Account Configurations - we expressed that our goal was to streamline the self-onboarding process and employee file self-maintenance, but employees were telling us that they couldn't adjust any of their personal info online or make tax form updates. After numerous attempts to read help guides, watch videos, we finally got clarification and were told that we have to "turn on" those features and functionality. So, they'll sell you on features that they never actually activate for you and never provide any training on, so bottom line.... GOOD LUCK actually knowing what's available or how to use it!

The product is really good overall. The customer service is not the best and the benefits administration is kind of painful. However, the good outweighs the bad. We might get a different benefit admin system that can be integrated into Paycor. My controller doesn't want to switch anything for a [long] time.

The Paycor portal is a very clean website, easy to get into and do a wide array of tasks. It's easy for a non-financial person like me to "get" what I need to do, and just do it. It has some very robust features for the CPAs and financial professionals, but I don't have to deal with those if it's over my head; their customer support people will tell me what I need to do

The first line CE team is phenomenal. They are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. We have had less luck with the responsiveness of the tax department. However, their response time has improved drastically over the past year.

I'd give a zero if that were an option. I currently have multiple requests for support that have not been answered in over a week. I have called their support phone line and usually hung up after waiting for 45 minutes for someone to answer. It is unlikely to get a quick response, EVER, even to urgent problems that effect taxes and benefit submission.

Implementation of any new software is going to be challenging, especially if you are maintaining an existing program concurrently. When it is time for dual-processing (both old and new software) prior to going live, be prepared to be stressed. But trust the process and it will be over soon.

Netchex

The biggest difference I see between Netchex and our previous vendor is customer service. Our previous vendor would take days, if not weeks, to respond with an inquiry. Netchex generally does within 24 hours via email or immediately if you call. The second biggest difference is ease of use, both managers and associates have commented on how much easier it is to use.

Paycor offers far more personalized support to users and customers than the previous systems. In comparison, I felt like a number and the customer service was awful; the people you spoke with seemed just as miserable to work there as you were having to call them. Paycor's team is always upbeat, energetic, and happy to help. Paycor cares about updating their system to meet the needs of customers. With the others, it felt like they made updates to just suit what they wanted out of their system regardless of their customers. ADP was unnecessarily overly complicated; our employees struggled with the ESS, our HR team had so many challenges they were on the phone constantly with ADP and ADP's own staff struggled to use their system and were constantly putting us on hold or transferring us to find someone more knowledgeable. With Paycor, we have a specific contact for each product and that individual is highly knowledgeable about that product and gets us the response we need quickly and accurately.

  • My payroll used to take three days to complete. Now it takes only a few minutes.
  • My employees have more information at their fingertips. They can see their hours, they can reference HR materials and they can get check stubs.
  • All I-9s are electronic, and I'm sure to have one for every person.
