Sprout [Social] is great for small businesses, small agencies and those who need a platform but don't want to spend a fortune. If you need multiple user log-in's, the cost will add up. This is great to share a log-in for different people to use or add one or two users.

  • Easy to schedule and post to all of your social media platforms.
  • Customer support is very accommodating and always there to help. I have never had an issue with reaching someone whether it was for a quick question or to demo other features.
  • They have an awesome affiliate program (example: I earned over $600 from one company clicking through an signing up from my affiliate link - yay!)
  • Compared to other social media platforms, Sendible has been the most robust with features and ease of use.
  • They are always making advances and upgrades to their service offerings to better meet the needs of their customers.

Sprout Social

  • The Landscape system that Sprout Social offers allows me to modify all the images that I want to publish on my social networks. This service allows me to modify the size of the image, add filters, modify the colors and much more, it is a very important tool to be able to have a better presentation of the images that we use in our publications on social networks.
  • It offers me a perfect statistical system where I can consult all kinds of movements that have occurred in all my social networks, I can see statistics individually or generally. The statistics allow me to see group reports, participation, information on audience movement on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn and also allow me to view the activity that has occurred in my account.
  • Sprout Social allows me to view a record in real time that shows me all the movements that my social networks are having by my employees. As Director of the Marketing Sector, this is a very important role, as I can know what actions my employees are taking to improve marketing with social networks.

  • Inbox. The inbox of incoming messages/posts is very clunky. Threads are separated into individual messages, making it difficult to follow conversations.
  • Reporting. The included reporting features are limited and don't allow for enough customization to be worth using.
  • Hashtags. When discussing the 10 most common mistakes (or whatever the title might be), we are unable to say "You won't believe #3" because the system reads this as a hashtag to link rather than just a number. It adds on editing time when approving posts.
  • Default settings. As a Social Media Manager, it is annoying to have myself set as default when looking at the content calendar. I don't write the posts, just approved and schedule them, so manually entering in my writers' names in the filters could be made easier by making this an editable feature.
  • Instagram. You cannot post multiple images in a single Instagram post from Sendible.
  • Service Lists. They are supposed to be helpful in grouping your services (we do this by brand), however, these lists don't pull the information you put on individual services. So if I have a list with Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for Brand A, you can't just add the Brand A Service List filter onto the calendar and see all of those posts that are scheduled. They don't seem to have much purpose at all.

  • The main drawback of Sprout Social that I have been facing for some time that they are frequently updating their software to provide the best possible services for their users.
  • Even though the dashboard is well designed, it is very difficult to navigate the right tool and the tab to open the relevant program in the platform, which is very much time taking and makes me less productive at work.

Sprout Social is extremely user-friendly. The publishing feature is easy to use, and provides previews of what your content will look like once posted. I also love the calendar view where you can view all posts you have scheduled for the month. The collaborative nature of the platform makes working directly in Sprout Social with clients a breeze, and we are seeing our content get approved much faster.

Uptime was OK, but given the fact that we are in Europe, there were some specific problems: They tended to take the system down for maintenance during the night in the US, which was during our workday. This was definitely problematic and hard to explain to our clients.

Their training is good, but the promotion of it is even better. I don't need or have the time for training, but I was always happy to know it was there. They did a great job sending updates out and making me aware when there was a new feature that I may want training for. As for the training I never used it, so I can't comment on that

Sendible totally knocks the rest of the competition out of the water. I have literally tried every single other scheduling app that out there and this platform is the best to view and keep scheduled posts up with ease. You can read and respond to messages right from the home screen and organize how you want to see your feed.

Sprout Social

I used Sprinklr when I was with a previous employer. While the tool is extremely robust in its community management, publishing, reporting and social listening capabilities, the price tag is cumbersome for smaller businesses and agencies. Sprout offers similar capabilities at a reasonable price. If you do need heavy automation, highly customizable reporting and cost is no barrier, Sprinklr still may be worth exploring, but Sprout should be able to deliver. I've also used Spredfast, which is now Khors, a few years ago and I was not impressed with the tool at all. It lagged in automation, the tool frequently glitched, its slow speed made work extremely difficult and they were misleading when it came to current capabilities vs future capabilities. They may have improved since then, but I would recommend Sprout hands down. Also, Spredfast had a slightly lower price tag than Sprinklr, but the cost savings was not significant. Sprout would come in below what they are probably still requesting today.

  • Our case study on the Pinterest side of things was remarkable. Allowing us to schedule our pins in advance meant we could publish at a higher frequency and also at more meaningful times. It impacted our Pinterest growth and conversions from Pinterest very noticeably.

  • We are a non-profit and we don't run ads or anything like that. The primary benefit so far has been an increase in the efficiency of scheduling and a better awareness of our social impact. We're in a heavy ramp-up phase this quarter though in our use of Sprout and should begin to measure more tangible ROI objectives.
