What is ClayHR?

ClayHR (formerly BizMerlin) is an HR Management Solution targeted at small and medium-sized teams, allowing them to hire, onboard, manage, allocate and retain their team members.

The application is cloud based and available via web browsers and native iOS and Android mobile apps. The vendor also offers 100+ integrations with JIRA, Salesforce, QuickBooks and others.

According to the vendor, key capabilities include:

  • Centralized database of people: Consolidates information like documents signed, trainings, important dates into a single view.
  • Hiring Automation: Faster and easier way to fill the positions internally (thanks to skill matrix and Resource Utilization) or externally through transparent candidate interview process.
  • Performance Management: Set goals with meaningful check-ins. Build a culture of positive feedback. Conduct periodic performance reviews.
  • New Employee Onboarding: Engage new employees with onboarding. Custom workflows to get new team members up and running quickly.
  • Skill Matrix: Measure and document each skill. Identify the gaps. Train resources well. Create a custom set of skills.
  • Retention Analysis: Set up custom rules to analyze special characteristics of turnover. Constantly monitor risk factors to determine who is leaving, when, and why.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our Human Resources Department we use BizMerlinto support different processes of selection, recruitment, hiring, payroll management and other benefits.We implemented BizMerlin for approximately 28 months thanks to its ease of use, multiple integrations including LinkedIn for Business, this synchronization helps us find new talent and evaluate their performance.

  • This software is highly configurable. Very easy to use. Lots of out of box integration.
  • It's got a mobile app and is also cloud based.
  • The goals module is our biggest used module. It also has great features like instant feedback, applicant tracking and onboarding.

Cons

  • Wall of fame or the feedback given to the users cannot be controlled. The users cannot choose or control who can view their wall of fame.
  • The dashboard is customizable at organization and geography level but cannot be customized at the individual level.
  • The filter on archived goals does not work properly using text search.
