Insights from GoTo Connect Reviewers

Based on 13 verified reviews published in the last 18 months

GoTo Connect was designed as an all-in-one system for phones, meetings, and messaging, that provides a unified admin tool to make IT easy. How has your experience with GoTo Connect reflected this?

11 answered

For manufacturing operations, GoTo Connect's core strength lies in its unified administration and robust phone system, which directly addresses the need for streamlined communication management across often distributed or lean IT environments. Reviewers consistently highlight the ease with which a single administrator can manage telephony, user profiles, and call flows, a critical factor for maintaining operational continuity without extensive specialized IT support. While marketed as an all-in-one solution, a significant portion of manufacturing users, representing 17% of reviewers, indicate they primarily leverage the phone system and its administrative capabilities, often not fully utilizing the integrated messaging and meeting features. This suggests that for many in manufacturing, the primary value proposition is the simplification of phone system administration and reliable performance, rather than the comprehensive unified communications suite.

Manufacturing firms frequently leverage general-purpose productivity and collaboration tools to support their operational and administrative needs. Microsoft 365, cited by 2 of 9 reviewers, is commonly integrated into the IT infrastructure for essential office functions, document management, and administrative processes critical for quality control and supply chain coordination. Similarly, Microsoft Teams, also mentioned by 2 of 9 reviewers, serves as a central communication platform, facilitating collaboration across various departments, from engineering to production planning. While these tools are widely adopted, the mixed sentiment associated with both suggests that manufacturing organizations may encounter specific challenges related to integration with specialized operational technology, user adoption across diverse workforces including shop-floor personnel, or ensuring compliance with industry-specific data handling requirements. The reliance on these platforms underscores the need for robust, adaptable solutions that can bridge the gap between enterprise IT and manufacturing-specific workflows.
