Sometimes I feel like I am using software developed at the '90s. The Jenkins functioning is amazing. It fulfills its role, but when we are talking about the user interface, it is something painful sometimes, and unfortunately, I didn't see investment and/or improvement on this part over the past few years. Another thing I couldn't forget to mention is about the ecosystem around Jenkins, there are a bunch of plugins, but due to this flexibility, we caught ourselves struggling with broken plugins several times.

Jenkins provides good performance, consumes very little memory itself, and the job is executed right after it is triggered and you do not need much time to prepare steps and it could run multiple jobs at the same time. We could setup Jenkins as a cluster with some slave instances to handle the work load and high ability.

Not the best UI or error notifications, but the customization and performance are unmatched. Its opensource nature is both a curse and a blessing and you'll have to weight the benefits when choosing your CTCI tool. For us, the stakes were never high enough that Jenkins couldn't do everything we wanted and more.

I have never had a performance concern with the Jenkins UI. Everything loads in a reasonable amount of time even when performing complex builds. We have integrated numerous unit testing, detecting, and coverage tests to our builds and Jenkins is able to easily handle the load we put on it.

No, when we integrated this with GitHub, it becomes more easy and smart to manage and control our workforce. Our distributed workforce is now streamlined to a single bucket. All of our codes and production outputs are now automatically synced with all the workers. There are many cases when our in-house team makes changes in the release, our remote workers make another release with other environment variables. So it is better to get all of the work in control.
