Overall Satisfaction with Act-On

  • Automated programs and emailing are fantastic - can automate the sending of program messages, or pushes and pulls to Salesforce, automatically.
  • I would say the UI isn't the prettiest I've seen
  • Shortened sales cycle (leads to sales faster), and more measurable results in email campaigns (reporting).
Marketo, Pardot and ExactTarget. ExactTarget didn't have the features we needed, Marketo had more than we needed and a much higher price, and Pardot was a pretty good comparison - their UI was a little more slick, but Act-On was easier to use and the core functions were better.
Act-On has a commitment to asking customers what they like and what they want to see in the product. I have a high confidence that they will continue to produce features that I will use, and their support is absolutely fantastic.
Love the company - vision, focus, philosophy - they have all been fantastic to work with. I expect only great things from them in the future.

Evaluating Act-On and Competitors

Bridgemail for email blasting, RingLead for list management - not a full marketing automation suite.

Act-On Implementation

Push pull with Salesforce was super easy to set up - had our system integrated and running within a couple hours.

Their training documentation and videos are very good, I had no problem integrating my instance with Salesforce, Litmus, Google Analytics, and others. Created a subdomain easily, and I was using the email system within the first day.
It was pretty easy to learn - there are a few exceptions. Emailing, list management, forms and landing pages are all pretty intuitive and easy to use (with a nice editor). For advanced features like the Automated Programs, it's good to look at the training.

Act-On Support

Their support organization is absolutely fantastic. They are always super responsive, and the infrequent problems I've had are always resolved very quickly.
No - Not needed - their support is premium already. 24 hour support isn't needed - business hours work fine for us.

Using Act-On

There are occasionally menu items that aren't always the most intuitive to find.

Act-On Reliability

This product has never been down when I needed it.
Occasionally, email test messages can be slow - but still within 5 minutes.

Integrating Act-On

  • Not yet.
They currently support everything I need.

Relationship with Act-On Software Inc.

I didn't really need to - they came in at an excellent price point, and the terms are month to month - which is brilliant. No contract, so they pretty much care about me every month, not just when I'm up for renewal.
