Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

We use ADP Workforce Now across all departments within the US. It resolves our needs to run the payroll for our entire US population and ensures that employees are paid on time. We issue W2s for our employees. Also provides us the GL files for accounting purposes. Provides us the reports we need for our workforce.
  • Payroll run and calculations on mainframe
  • Payment methods, deductions, taxes, garnishments
  • Support is very helpful when we raise service requests
  • Delays in addressing any new requests - creating paygroups or adding cost centers at mainframes end
  • Year end - ADP resources are highly tighed up.
  • Data imports or person record imports should be improved
  • Reduction in payroll workforce
  • Accurate processing of payroll and results
  • Very expensive on the long run as long as we have to run the payroll
ADP is a very user-friendly payroll management system. The only disadvantage is, if we are implementing payroll for a new company or acquisition, running a test payroll or parallel with another system is very difficult as everything is tied up to mainframes. Comparing the GL files may not be possible until we go live.
ADP has very high scalability as the computation process for payroll and run results is accurate and up to date. Various legislative related tax information is auto updated and we receive constant notifications about new laws, changes to the system (say new W4 format etc.) in advance. ipay statements is very useful in checking pay check details via mobile.
  • Oracle HCM
  • BSwift
  • Kronos
  • Other benefit vendors
  • Banks

Basically ADP provides us the SQRs which can be uploaded to other systems as interfaces.

Need to rely on ADP resources for any integration

Integration with Oracle is automatic, however there are some scenarios with respect to acquisitions which ADP cannot handle. It expects the job and the [salary] data at the time of hire or with hire date.

Well Suited:

1. Small organizations for running payroll and generating W2s

2. ADP Run is completely owned by mainframes or the ADP team. Client users only need to upload the batch hours or the data for the employees in ADP and the actual payroll run happens at mainframes. Reduction of manpower at the client level for payroll side.

Less Suited:

1. Large Organizations, where it would be very expensive for payroll runs, as ADP would charge for each run.

2. Any customizations or any changes to the system, we would be highly dependent on ADP, which in turn would be very costly in the long run.
