Overall Satisfaction with Asana
Asana is used by our corporate team to coordinate departmental efforts; however, it is not used by our operational project management teams. The goal of using Asana was to expedite updates and collaboration efforts between various groups (Acc, HR, Ops, IT, Marketing, etc.) when working together and executing on corporate initiatives.
- Sub-tasking under a primary task (having individual assignments/commentary etc. on subtasks).
- Summation of individual tasks across multiple projects.
- Setting recurring tasks/templates.
- Ability to milestone/use dependencies.
- Some integrations with Microsoft Outlook struggle.
- Offline access on mobile and desktop.
- Assigning difficulty and required effort for resource planning.
- Recurring tasks.
- Subtasks.
- Comments and task updates.
- Reduction in coordination efforts.
- Reduction in lost/late tasks.
Asana does well at the assignment of tasks and task management, but it is not a resource planning tool. Other tools do better at resource planning and some principles of agile/scrum. It is simple and easy to use within the mobile application and on desktop, but it doesn't have any offline abilities and its integrations with Microsoft products is weak.
