Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence
I am working in a software development company. In my role as a Product Manager, I need a reliable platform to create my requirement documents and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. Atlassian Confluence serves this purpose perfectly. Due to the well-built integrations with the rest of the tools and services in the Atlassian portfolio, it is easy to connect the content stored within Confluence back to the work items in Jira, or the list of ideas on Jira Product Discovery.
Pros
- Integration with the rest of the Atlassian services
- Fosters collaboration
- Constant improvements based on the users interactions and feedback
- Easy to use
Cons
- I would like to see some of the AI features in the lower price tiers as this can save me a lot of time
- Having a reliable source of product requirements saves on the cost of rework and the team can focus on value creation items
- If used properly the integrations between Confluence and Jira save a lot of time for the entire team to find requirements, collaborate, and navigate between the work items which increases productivity and drives a positive impact on the business as a whole.
In the past, I have used MediaWiki hosted locally as well as Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Wiki was simply a nightmare so all the money saved from paying for Atlassian subscriptions was lost in time while trying to use Wiki and format something properly. I haven't used Microsoft TFS long before its rebrand so I can't comment on it.
