In my opinion, dated and not very pleasant but gets the job done, somewhat
Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence
Knowledge base management, dev and non-dev docs.
HR, engineering, product.
HR, engineering, product.
Pros
- Integrates with Jira
- Being pretty stable
- Versioning is nice
- Advanced macros
- Advanced pemissions
Cons
- Seamlesness: I do not want to switch between editing and looking at the doc. I think this idea needs to go.
- Look and feel — to me it still feels like an old boring man trying to appear young and cool although it's becoming better
- More stuff out of the box: toggle lists, date pickers etc. with no add ons
- Difficult to search → more time spent finding the info I need
- Lots of resistance towards using it → less likely to actually create documentation
- Having some knowledge base is better than having no knowledge base — so if you have no other choice, it's better than nothing
