Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp

I use Basecamp to organize with external vendors and collaborate on projects that are being done by agencies. It allows sharing of documents and ideas that aren't part of internal networks, so this is a way to add some transparency for others who might not have or have difficulty accessing information.

Basecamp is perfect for small-time collaboration. It's suited for projects that need organization but not granular detail. When you need more than a simple little bit of help, you'll be looking at other solutions at that point. Very straight forward and to the point but that is also a problem if your company is growing.
They've got a good handle on the product and who it is for. There is a lot of support out there for you to check into and since it's well-known, other users are able to pitch in and help with the process of finding solutions to problems that might be within the projects you are looking to complete.

It's suited for small teams or projects that are not all that complex. When you start adding requirements, you will look for other solutions at that point. It's also great for cross collaboration on one-off projects between departments or to create visibility for others around the company. Very straightforward and to the point.
