Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
I use Cisco Meraki MX for SDWAN for the branch offices and VPN headend hubs.
Pros
- easy to manage
- Auto VPN
- Built in security features like AMP
- Built in URL filtering features
Cons
- Harder to check logs compared to firewalls like FortiGate
- Not as power as other firewalls when configuring firewall rules
- The LAN ports don't support STP properly
- Make monitoring and management easier
- The network admins love it
- Sometimes limited visibility into the devices makes it hard to troubleshoot
Cisco Meraki MX is easy to deploy and manage, so the engineers love that, and also easier to find suitable engineers for the job. The customers love it because they can also have ready only access if needed to check the portals.
Overall it's an easy solution, and provide single pane of glass to monitor and manage the WAN, LAN and WiFi.
Cisco Meraki MX is easy if you don't need multi-tenancy solutions and if the routing in the network is not so complex. But Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN solution is more powerful and has more features compared to Meraki.
