Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
Today we are using ClickUp in Vietnam only, to manage 3 backlogs : our website, backoffice and mobile APP. We are also testing sprint feature and using it to sumarize meeting.
- The user interface is excellent, especially when coming from Jira, its game breaker
- The flexibility of the tool is very good, easy to adapt it to our process, instead of opposite
- I have been using the free version in small startup for a while, never needed to pay
- The pricing options are only per members which can make the GAP between free and paid to small to cross, especially when already have other "official" tools in the corporate
- Since ClickUp is very flexible, it help to improve our process without having the tool feature as a restriction
- It also save tons of time when comparing with the tool we used before, because of the smart UX
Right now, my organization still use Jira and ClickUp is just internal to Vietnam IT Team. However it is very useful even to organize meeting, as mentioned before, the tool is very flexible and its feature can easily be use for various different use case than it is initially intended to.
Right now the only automation process we use is the recurring task which is enjoyable. I do not like the business model being the automation feature, however I would study the API option when I have more time
The UX of Jira, to me, is a nightmare.. moving a bunch of task from one board to another one require to fill a formulary, its painful and long. Filtering task require to use some Jira script language that you have to investigate on Google, often have to try several outdated options until you got the good one, it waste so much time for things that is done in 2 click on ClickUp. Also Jira is really not flexible, you have to brainstorm your process to make match with Jira tool and often have to modify how you was planning to organize things because its too limitated. In ClickUp, its like playing with LEGO, you think the process and then build the tool.
