Overall Satisfaction with Cvent Event Management

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Cvent Event Management for about 50% of our current clients. The usage varies based on the event type - but we've utilized the below in the past:
- Registration
- Attendee Hub
- On Arrival
- Speakers
- Agenda
- Exhibitor Portal
- Surveys
- Website

Pros and Cons

Pros

I love Cvent Event Management's registration platform specifically because of the flexibility. There are no limits to what Cvent Event Management can do - if you want custom logic, questions or buttons, it's all possible!
The Exhibitor Portal is an exceptional option for event sponsors. Exhibitors have so much power to manage their profile in the back end, and it's very easy to navigate.
The Agenda section is a favorite of mine, as the customization options are endless. You can have people select their sessions and view speaker profiles + the planner has endless options for making the agenda thorough.

Cons

Emails - you can't pre-schedule emails, and it's very complicated to target a specific group.
Testing - You have to clear your cache in between testing, or go incognito mode. Makes for a very lengthy testing process. Wish you could just see live updates as you went!
Gameifcation in the App - I have not had the best luck with this section of the app. It doesn't ALWAYS work. They have some improvements to be made on that front.

Return on Investment

Cvent Event Management has definitely provided great value with our exhibitors. It's a well organized system that they all trust and utilize each year now.
Cvent Event Management has also provided positive ROI on the app front. Our clients rely on the app to share information and it's saved us a lot of money in paper printing costs!

Usability

Cvent Event Management has an extensive knowledge base that is great for planners/folks working in the back end. What I feel they're missing are basic documents that we can send to clients. For example, for those utilizing the exhibitor portal, I would love to have a basic PDF that shows exactly how to get into the portal, how to update their information, etc. Unfortunately, right now you have to send them directly to the help/knowledge base and I don't think it's a great experience for those interacting in Cvent Event Management on such a small level.

For planners on the other end, It takes some serious practice/training to get to a proficient level - but once you get there - it's worth it!

Alternatives Considered

Bizzabo, Whova, Sched and Zoho Backstage

Honestly, Cvent Event Management's registration platform is superior. The logic, setup options are far better than what the companies above have to offer. The only downfall is that it is far more expensive, and sometimes isn't needed for the most basic of registration sites.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a big event (over 300 people) that requires an app, has a substantial agenda and/or lots of sponsors - then Cvent Event Management is for you. I would never recommend it to a client that didn't have a ton of cash, as it's an expensive asset.
If you have a complicated event in any way shape or form, it is a LIFE saver.
