Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use Deputy as our time keeping system across the whole corporation.
Deputy remedies the issues with paper schedules and employees not keeping track etc.

Pros

  • Pushes schedules to employees calendars to remedy missed shift/s excuses.
  • Dashboard and tabs are seamless to learn and work with.
  • Exporting time sheets is simple and expedites payroll via Excel or CSV.
  • The App is really easy to use.

Cons

  • I would say that if timesheets exported to a Deputy driven format that did not require calculations/sums etc, no extra work, that would shave quite a bit of time off the process.
  • The Reports center is a format that is really complicated and unhelpful for data. Mainly the Report Builder.
  • Definitely Time Saved.
  • It is cost effective based on the number of People via billing as employees.
  • Payroll accuracy is on point.
Deputy is a far easier time keeping system for the "public" versus the more tech minded, so employees find ease of use as they are familiar with smart phone technology, tablets, Apps etc.
We do use Paychex Flex to enter employees and phone in our payroll. If Deputy provided payroll processing with State and Federal tax processing that integrated with the timekeeping portion, we would definitely consider utilizing that as an all in one service.

My rating is based on using Deputy as an Add On with Vend, I integrated Deputy and my own within our company. I am tech oriented / self taught and it was super simple to navigate the functions and implement them without tutorials.
As with Apps and technology, all I can say is read and understand the data in front of you. Use the help section, tutorials, start with an overview of Deputy's functions across devices then set to task to use the tutorials as a trial run then implement.
Deputy is suited for employee schedules via the App where they are accessible via the App or pushed to the individuals calendar with alerts. No missed shifts etc. Great for Retail companies.
I find the remote Start Scheduled Shift less appropriate, room for issues there.
