Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox has a personal account to keep and store all my valuable documents throughout the years. It allows me to maintain an archive of materials, from work documents, to personal documents, to board of director documents, accessible from anywhere and on any device. It is also a great alternative to things like iCloud, which allows me to upload all my photos from my device and know that my images are stored safely if I were to ever lose my phone.

Pros

  • Accessibility across devices
  • Archiving
  • Auto-download of photos from my phone

Cons

  • Bring back the vault
  • Allow for enhanced privacy storage settings with folders
  • Ability to edit documents in the Dropbox app or browser like before.
  • It is an affordable tool for archive and storage
  • It allows for familiar set-up as windows; creating folders etc.
  • Wish it could create/edit files within the device better (i.e. photo editing)
I think there is a lot of ability to grow the use of Dropbox and functionality. I would love to see it also expand into VPN services as a bonus add-on feature, not just with Dropbox, but VPN as a whole. I think that it does well what it does, but could have room for further growth.
Dropbox is miles ahead of iCloud and its accessibility. OneDrive is better integrated with Windows. Google just has way better environment functionality across products. And DocuSign is just such a leader in its field that no one has really shaken its use, which I think Dropbox could totally dominate this field.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

No

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

I would like to see the collaboration functionality more like Google Docs/Sheets, which allows a consistent experience between users. Also, due to using a corporate laptop, I'm unable to integrate my Dropbox the same way that OneDrive is integrated in my organization. I miss the days of having on-screen access to my Dropbox and now have to go through my browser to access it.
