Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I primarily use Dropbox for client assets to use as marketing material, plus as a backup for my personal files in the case of my laptop spontaneously crashing for whatever reason.
Pros
- Storage capacity
- Organizing files
- Familiarity among clients
Cons
- Sharing capabilities are often confusing
- Loads very slowly often
- The interface is so overloaded that I sometimes can barely see file previews
- Permissions structure often slows down business when sharing isn't efficient
- Slow load times also means I'm waiting around often
- Syncing to my desktop is really slow sometimes, so I have to continuously reload the app and lose time/effort on uploads
I've only selected Dropbox because it's the file organization platform the majority of my clients use so it's more of a default choice than anything else, and wish more people used Google Drive (though its sharing capabilities and sync also could use some work).
