Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

As a print company, we use Dropbox extensively to support large files that can't be shared via email. By setting up a folder for each customer, we can easily have them load their documents, review and approve proofs and retrieve any finalized documents. There are other solutions on the market specific to the industry but Dropbox still seems to work the best.

Pros

  • SYNC different files to different computers.

Cons

  • SYNC can be inconsistent when new folders are created.
  • History should be more accessible from Windows File Manager or other desktop app without sending to website interface. Maybe a more comprehensive desktop app.

I don't find the web interface on Dropbox to be as useful as the interfaces for One Drive which I also use. That said, I find the integration with File Manager to be far superior and as this is the way it is used primarily within my organization Dropbox wins.
I find Dropbox to be far superior to Google Drive from a functionality perspective. I have not used SYNC extensively but am currently testing it out. In the current political climate with rising tensions between Canada and the USA, I am considering moving my organization to SYNC so that I have Canadian Data residency.

I find that it is very useful for what it is at its base, a cloud storage application. It is well suited for file sharing both within an organization and to external partners/clients. I do not find it as useful for document collaboration as it lacks the same features as One Drive or Google Drive in these scenarios.
