Overall Satisfaction with Exclaimer
Our company basically has 4 separate business units that need to appear "somewhat" cohesive while also still remaining separate and free to create their own email signatures. Exclaimer allows for a dedicated set of managers at each business unit to admin the users for that business unit, while also being able to duplicate/copy/modify signatures from other business units to allow for more cohesive brand styling between our business units and the parent company. Exclaimer utilizes data within Active Directory including custom fields, and then admins can utilize those fields to populate data for users along with unit-wide information (such as marketing graphics or even departmental promos).
- Very easy to create a professional email signature and apply it to users.
- Lot's of options for fine-tuning the signature design including custom links for tracking.
- Well organized and intuitive rule builder for handling the myriad of special circumstances that every organization requires.
- There are a few UI elements that could be improved. Sometimes fields are slow to respond to input...but you get used to the little quirks pretty quickly.
- After editing a signature, you currently have to return to the root level of all signatures instead of back to a list of your business unit signatures. This could be improved.
- While Exclaimer allows for the integration of custom AD fields, I've been told this is a slow process and somewhat problematic. There isn't a way to test data integration until after it has been pushed to production, so errors can result in massive delays if a business unit has to wait until the next production push before proceeding.
- Keeps employee signatures consistent across the organization
- Allows for a team of business admins to control content and creative without the need to bother individual users or IT helpdesk staff.
- Allows for sharing signature designs if desired across business units at the same organization.
Email templates for the signatures are our primary use case. We have 6 signature variations required at just my business unit, and I'm able to duplicate a template and then modify the rules and design as needed very quickly. And if the parent organization deems a more cohesive design is required, they are able to share that template with each business unit for them to customize as needed while still retaining the primary branding elements.
We have not had any security issues or incidents (yet) with Exclaimer providing our email signatures for our organization. There were a few issues when they initially rolled out the new web UI, but once those were resolved, it was fairly seemless. I've never experienced any downtime that I'm aware of.
Prior to Exclaimer, we would email a business unit signature template/design to everyone in the business unit along with instructions for how to implement within Outlook. Doing it this way, we still ran into consistency issues between employee signatures for various reasons. Once we switched to using Exclaimer, we immediately became more consistent. And the marketing team was able to push new content to everyone at the business unit at once and in a timely manner.
