Overall Satisfaction with Gong

We use Gong as a note-taking assistant and also use it to share call recordings and easily read through transcripts and identify take-aways / next steps from any specific meeting. The business problem it addresses is any sales discussions with external prospects and customers are recorded and transcribed so its easier for us to identify and improve our pitching areas and next steps.

Pros

  • Higher transcript accuracy
  • Easily integrates with our CRM Salesforce to give single pane view
  • Better sales productivity

Cons

  • More use of AI/Gen AI is possible
  • The "Points of interest" feature could be more accurate than what it is now
  • More means to share recordings internally than create multiple collaborator licenses
  • Higher productivity in sales
  • Better cross-department alignment
  • Faster time to respond to customers
Gong's overall usability is great. It has a simple user experience and can be accessed from our CRM too. It's easy to set up for anyone and once set-up one can navigate through options (and view different features like Highlights, Point of Interest etc.) in a single page seamlessly. It also gives valuable sales insights from its own database which helps us to benchmark our progress.
Yes Gong has provided us with relatively accurate and actionable insights, not just from our own data that syncs from CRM but also company-agnostic data and insights retrieved from Gong's own database. Gong provides deal insights (pointers to start a call, things to take care of in deal negotiation, age of deal beyond which there is a red flag etc.) which we use as benchmark and then our own data is summarized with actionable insights (how to progress through a blocked deal, where there could be potential hiccups etc.) which help us a lot.
Gong has helped us in building of trends with our prospects and customers (why and how we are winning or losing specific deals, trends period over period, etc.). But when it comes to what's happening in market, Gong only provides company-agnostic or industry-agnostic insights. It doesnt tell us for our industry specifically what works and what does not but in general it says, from the data in its database, how the trends have been and what's working.
Gong has higher accuracy in terms of call transcript and better brand reliability and sentiment, compared to Chorus by ZoomInfo and Kaia by Outreach. In addition, it is easier to use and share with team compared to other competitors. We also didnt want to have vendor lock-in with ZoomInfo and Outreach as they are best-in-breed as different martech stack so we went with Gong.

Do you think Gong delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Gong's feature set?

Yes

Did Gong live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Gong go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Gong again?

Yes

Gong is well suited for mid-market and enterprise customers with a good enough customer-facing team that gets into lots of customer or prospect calls at varied time zones and it may be getting difficult to track the take-aways and next steps from every meeting. It may be less appropriate for small businesses/start-ups given the pricing.
