Reliable & Free - Everything I Want It To Be
Overall Satisfaction with Google Voice
We started using Google Voice as a temporary phone solution while we got the business up and running. 6 years later we're still using it. The app is nothing fancy but works and for the price you can't argue. We're also able to set it up within Salesmate to handle our click to call right from the pipeline which saves a lot of time throughout the year.
Pros
- Integrates with Google Hangouts.
- Keeps a record of all missed, sent, and received calls.
- You can text from the app.
- Makes it easy to have a separate voicemail that automatically transcribes the messages into my email.
Cons
- Slight lag regardless of if you are on a mobile device or on the computer.
- Voicemail transcription, though a great feature, it needs some work still.
- Unable to forward calls or three-way calls.
- Not enough available phone numbers per area code.
- It's free so that's a plus.
- Quick & easy to implement across multiple devices as needed.
Well in a quick comparison to RingCentral & Vonage, Google Voice lacks a slew of features that the others provide, however, in terms of price Google is crushing it. All the services have their pros/cons, and if you're utilizing a VoIP phone system, the other products may be a better option. Overall I'm still very happy with Google Voice and it's saved me thousands of dollars of the past 6 years.
