Overall Satisfaction with Gusto

My company has used Gusto for on-boarding, tax documents, HR reports and forms, payroll, PTO requests and management, and internal communications for team members. The scope in my experience at multiple companies has ranged from 15 employees to 75 employees, and has been integrated before my employment, so I have been on-boarded as a new team member with Gusto and used it as an active employee as well as a manager of staff.

Pros

  • Gusto does a fantastic job of integrating payroll into a dashboard that is user-friendly for the employer and easy to navigate as the employee.
  • Gusto provides very easy to use access to important tax documents for employees and allows employers a great way to share and store sensitive information.
  • Gusto offers employees and employers seamless communication for detailed HR related policies, forms, and requests making it easy to streamline communication, PTO and resources between teh company and the employee.

Cons

  • I think that Gusto could better incorporate the calendar feature to show non-sensitive information to team members.
  • If Gusto provided a team/staff scheduling tool that offered managers to schedule staff, share that schedule and assign roles like "bartender," "server," etc. that would be a game changing feature for small businesses who use Gusto but also have to incorporate separate scheduling tools.
  • While Gusto competes in the market of other services and can be an expensive product, the features are well worth it. Any business has to invest in a platform that can store and manage data for employees, and the return on this software is seen for organizations committed to maximizing each feature for themselves and their team.
I have used other, similar platforms that offer a lot of the same features, and with many of these databases, what you're looking for is a dashboard that is simple, but contains all of the necessary data in a way that is easy to digest and navigate while also easy to program for teh employer or HR department. When compared to ADP, Quickbooks and others, Gusto rises above all of them in the dashboard and UX design.
Gusto offers a better experience for both employees and employers with more intuitive navigation, simplified step-by-step builds for back-end structure, and user-friendly, secure processes for employees. Gusto is a well-designed platform that is years ahead of the others in design and user experience. It is by far the better software for payroll, PTO, on-boarding, tax documents, and other relevant HR and Accounting tools. It's also much easier to scale up and down for small businesses and growing businesses.

Would you buy Gusto again?

Yes

I think that Gusto is appropriate for most scenarios. It's very user friendly, easy to manage large and small teams, and encompasses to much of an Hr department's needs in one, all-encompassing dashboard. The platform is equally designed with the employee in mind, making it easy to on-board new team members at any capacity and take a lot of the manual data entry off of the employer. It's also a secure platform that holds sensitive information and makes tax documents easy to share, which is beneficial for companies of all sizes.
