Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite
We use Hootsuite for three things.
1) to schedule content on our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X business pages. This saves us tremendous loads of time.
2) to review success measures and explore analytics on all our social channels. Hootsuite has a longer history of activity on social channels than the social channels themselves do. For instance, Hootsuite can look back a full 12 months at analytics, but Facebook business suite cannot.
3) as a chat feature to respond to customers. Our customer care team logs into Hootsuite and responds to customer messages.
Pros
- Hootsuite is phenomenal at post scheduling and they have gotten better and better at maintaining channel integration, where they are breaking less and less.
- Hootsuite has great analytics that are visually appealing and easy to understand.
- Hootsuite allows you to easily have multiple users to manage different aspects of social media - like post and customer responses.
Cons
- I know that they are constantly updating the UI but there's still something that seems a little lacking in how it looks. But that may just be personal preference.
- It does get very expensive per person you add on there.
- Adding or removing social media accounts can be difficult to navigate to.
- Hootsuite has saved us hundred of man hours, thus hundred of dollars. Logging into each channel multiple times a day is just not an option.
- Hootsuite helps us understand and justify what type of content we are posting where. The way it shows our channel analytics help us clearly understand what is happening with our content.
- Hootsuite provides a way for our customer care team to quickly respond to upset customers on social platforms, keeping them happy and addressing their issues quickly. In the long run, this retains them as customers.
We post around 20 days per month across 4 channels and over 30 pages. Hootsuite allows us to maintain brand consistency throughout all those posts. It helps me get a clear picture of what we're putting out there at what time and create a congruent content calendar. We're also able to have our customer care team respond to our customers at the same time and maintain their business.
There's no doubt that Hootsuite is the industry leader when it comes to social media scheduling and monitoring. I find integrating channels easiest on Hootsuite (once you can find where to do it on your dashboard). In the past year I've also noticed fewer and fewer disconnections with channels on the platform. Other platforms, like Later, frequently disconnect.
