Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work at a school and I use Hootsuite as my one-stop social media shop for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Scheduling posts.
Providing prompts and suggestions for inspiration.
Streamlining work flows.
Providing data/analytics.

Cons

Glitches. Scheduling sometimes fails.
Video is slow and difficult to process through Hootsuite.
Social listening tool could be improved. We often receive irrelevant submissions for another school with the same name as ours.
Scheduling stories (no buttons/stickers available).

Return on Investment

Increased following.
Increased enagagement.
Increased traffic.

Usability

Easy to use drag and drop format. Fast and straightforward to schedule a post across multiple platforms. Great analytics and customer support.

I have used Hootsuite through my entire 10 year social media career. Working at fast paced nonprofits, being able to schedule the same message across multiple platforms has been a gamechanger. The analytics also give a snapshot of the overall health of the social media platforms and have been helpful in reporting strengths and areas of improvements to team members.

Alternatives Considered

Buffer, HubSpot Academy, B2BSprout Suite, Later Social, Mailchimp and Meta Business Manager

Tried trials of other software and was disappointed compared to Hootsuite.com. Buffer and Later.com had limited functionality. MetaBusiness Suite and MailChimp offer a limited number of platforms you can post too. HubSpot and SproutSocial were extremely costly and geared toward larger teams. Hootsuite was the best software overall by far.

Likelihood to Recommend

Hootsuite is well suited for scheduling infographics, photos, and quotes. It is also good for taking a big-picture look at social media strategy in regards to optimizing timing and content based on analytics.
