Overall Satisfaction with IBM Control Desk

This software was the database backend for IBM Rational DOORS. It was used specifically on the systems hosting DOORS and was required by IBM.
  • Allows DOORS to function
  • Very old
  • Poor documentation
  • A very poor and confusing website that hosts the software, downloads, and instructions
  • Costly since needed for DOORS which is expensive
  • Allowing DOORS to function
  • Poor ROI since hard to work with and the product it supports was not even very good
  • Difficult to patch
Did not even compare. IBM was chosen because it was required by DOORS.

Well suited for DOORS implementation. Other than that, it was not a positive experience working with this software and I would never use it over PostgreSQL or MariaDB if given the choice.
