Overall Satisfaction with isolved

We use iSolved for all of our payroll needs. We started it 3 years ago. We used to do payroll in-house, but with the new insurance rule, we made the switch. They help us with anything payroll related: bonuses, child support, insurance, 401(k), quarterly and yearly federal/state reports, and W2s. They submit all government reports too, and they give our employees direct access to their account, where they can see digital pay-stubs, update info, and receive digital W2s all online. I mainly use the program, but they also offer online onboarding, so the store managers do initiate onboarding, but only have access to that.

Pros

  • Reporting state and federal reports.
  • Customer service is amazing!
  • It provides ease of access for myself as an admin, and for the employees.
  • Their mobile app is streamlined.

Cons

  • My BIGGEST complaint is that their desktop site does not have a mobile view. They have an app for employees, but as an admin, I have needed to use the site on my phone out of the office, and it is impossible! Everything is mushed up and little. It's completely impossible to use.
  • Not sure if available, but would like a digital time card swipe for one of our locations.
  • The website time lag is a little slow, but I realize that is because it is a lot of information and it has to be secure.

  • The ROI is great. This system has seriously saved me so much time. It is billed within each payroll process, so it is perfect for our accounting periods.
  • They submit our quarterly and yearly reports for payroll. Relieving the stress of that alone was a big factor.
  • Less risk of errors.
Ease of access is number one. Employees and admins can get to the information they need immediately. Payroll is streamlined and quick, and reports are thorough and easily customized. Benefit programs are tracked by the system, and we can pull reports or get info pushed for eligibility. Terminations are easy and they take care of all of the paperwork.
We used to use Microsoft Great Plains in-house prior to iSolved. It was a lot of manual entries for my department. Everything we did for payroll was on my shoulders. iSolved has set controls on how to get payroll done, and terminate employees. Plus, benefit reports for employees are eligible for insurance or 401(k).

It's very well suited to our company. We have 130 employees. They have even more programs than we even use at this level. Everything HR-related is there and very easy to use. I love the reports, and I am able to make custom reports, which I have to have. We look at information in a lot of different ways, and I can get all the info needed.

Using isolved

9 - I use isolved in all functions, from setting up/finishing set up for new employees, running payroll, running payroll reports, and end of year processes.
The Ops Manager, Training Manager, and each restaurant's general manager (6) use isolved for onboarding at the restaurants.
We don't use anyone in-house for support. All support is through isolved by email or phone.

We have used isolved since January 1st, 2017. It is easy to maintain and helpful in all areas. We love the access it provides to our employees and to the management.

Evaluating isolved and Competitors

Yes - Microsoft Dynamics. It was too large for our company but the payroll part was very limited.

We wanted a cloud based software. It is very important that we were able to access the programing anywhere.
We looked at 2 other payroll companies. Isolved just had what we needed and the price was economical.

isolved Implementation

Isolved prepped everything and offered multiple trainings for all the functions that we would be using.
Change management was minimal - Isolved prepped everything, but we were trying to implement mid-year. That was our biggest hurdle to get taxes and YTD numbers to align. We decided to stop and then resume to prep for 1/1/2017. After that decision, everythign when fine.

isolved Training

Training was done in stages. First how to onboard and input information, then how to import and process payroll. Any additional help needed was just a phone call away. Later we switch to employee self-onboarding, and we had an extra training there for the managers to send the initial emails to the new employees.

Configuring isolved

I do like the customized reports, but I would like different language options. I have several staff that English is their second language and during onboarding that would be easier. And I think they would use their app a lot more if they had a version in their language. I have spoken to isolved about this.
isolved has helped us configure compliance settings to reflect federal, state, and local regulations applicable. They keep these settings updated as regulations change to ensure ongoing compliance. Regularly audit data to maintain integrity and reliability, which is crucial for payroll accuracy and compliance. isolved has made sure we are updated as much as possible.

Yes - Yes. When I called about on onboarding issue they already knew about the problem and were trying to fix it.
At the begining, I would have to call my dedicated support person almost every 2 weeks when preparing payroll. Alana was a huge help and so patient and kind. She was able to fix that issue right then, or get the problem fixed pretty quick. If she wasn't available, I always received help from someone else.

Using isolved

I think the program is easy to use as an admin and as an employee. There is training modules and documents you can use, plus they are available if needed. The employees have access to their profile from their phone without having to download an app.

isolved Reliability

We are a company of about 135 people at 9 locations in 2 towns. We were able to set locations and departments, and also have each location seperate so only that manager can see their employees.
Payroll due dates and send to us at the beginning of the year, with email reminders for holidays. The support email address is fairly fast, within 24-48 hours. But if something is needed immediately, I can just call and they help me out right then.
We do not use the integration, so we have a csv file that I upload manually for payroll. That is our decision based on the software at our restaurants. Pages loaded fairly quickly, but reports to pdf lag about 15-20 seconds.

Integrating isolved

We started with isolved January 1 of 2017, so it was very easy to integrate. They were able to input the current employees into their system from spreadsheets that contained all the employee information neeeded.
We had tried to integrate mid-year, but we could not get the taxes to balance, so we decided to wait until 1/1.

Relationship with isolved

Very friendly and training focused. We were giving all information and pricing upfront. We were also given more options to buy like iSolved Hire and tax prep. Pricing is very economical
At the beginning I had a dedicated support person. Now we have an email address to send support issue to that answers within 48 hours. But if an emergency, I can call and talk to anyone. Every time I have ever called the person that answers the phone can fix my issue without being transferred or on hold forever.
Payroll and YE processing is based on the number of employees in each run. Very sensible and fair pricing.
None. They are all very helpful and knowledgable.
