Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

We're using Insightly primarily for our sales team as a CRM system, tracking organisations, contacts, opportunities and in the future, projects.
This information is coupled with our budgets to provide the proverbial "BIGGER PICTURE"
  • Organizational, contact and opportunity management. We're able to store relevant data about all three specific information areas. In particular, the progression of opportunities through custom phases is a big plus for us.
  • Great reports that are customizable to my department's needs.
  • The easy user interface made the transition from our previous product relatively pain free for our users. Not to say what we used, but you had to be a wise old 'sage' to use it...
  • Integration to Xero should allow us to quote directly from Insightly, or be able to view our Xero quotes in Insightly.
  • It would also be great to be able to track quotes against a budget or target!
  • Improved efficiency
We have definitely achieved better efficiencies, which in turn lead to increased sales!
Apart from the correct functionality, the price was right, the product was well marketed and the learning curve was short! The online training/learning materials are great.
Well suited to client management.
Not too well suited to quoting!

Using Insightly

10 - Sales & Account management
1 - Basic PC skills to do CSV imports and reports.
The reports builder is slightly intimidating to inexperienced users.
  • Opportunity Management
  • Client Management
  • Intergation of the opportunity information into our budget tool and reporting on this data through Power BI.
  • If the quoting and Xero integration was tighter, we could do reports on quotes in Xero. Xero is particularly poor in this regard.
  • The projects workflows are not included in our version, however if the price were right, we would use them.

Insightly Implementation

The only missing thing at this time that would make our implementation complete would be a tighter integration with Xero allowing us to send quotes and report on quotes from Insightly!
Xero has, excuse the pun, ZERO reporting on quotes sent!!!
They are both very good products, however it's the little things that make good GREAT!

I love it!
The only thing that would make it better would be tighter integration with Xero!
We use Xero for quoting and this would be amazing if we could quote (1st prize) from Insightly, or vice versa have our Xero quotes create opportunities in insightly!

Integrating Insightly

I have only used the API once to read opportunities into a reporting database. Being an inexperienced part-time programmer, this took me about an hour and a half to do!
I was pleasantly surprised with the short learning curve and how easy it was to do!
Just what an admin wants!
