Overall Satisfaction with Klaviyo
We are a boutique consulting agency for ecommerce D2C brands, so we use Klaviyo to manage their email marketing campaigns. Myself and another coworker use it mostly, and we are sometimes advised by my boss on tactics and strategies. It addresses the important need of the email marketing platform, and does so much better than other providers I've used in the past.
- Automation and flows. Klaviyo has the best dynamic automation out of any email platform that I've seen.
- Segmentation. You can very easily create segments of your list based on a number of dynamic properties.
- Some of the functionality inside Flows is a little difficult to understand, like when you want to backfill users or if you add a new step.
- It's expensive. But it's worth it.
- Klaviyo fills the role of the email marketing platform, which brings in revenue easily on it's own, but with the level of automation and customization, the ROI very high.
- Because of the segmentation available in Klaviyo, we typically target our most profitable customers and often bring in $10k+ per email send for a medium sized company.
I've mostly used Mailchimp in the past for email marketing campaigns, albeit very basic ones. I did look into what options there were for automation, and there were some very basic options like transactional emails and welcome series flows, but there was very little customization available for them. They did fine for basic blasts, but if you want the segmentation and automation, you need to use Klaviyo.
