Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

Implementation was performed by a 3rd party vendor but was seamless and with minimal issues.
We have several locations spread throughout the state of Florida and we use the Lifesize Video Conferencing System as a way to bring everyone together for face-to-face meetings throughout the organization. The system is also used by our training department to educate staff located throughout our markets. The ability to connect a laptop to the system and share information company-wide has also shown to be a tremendous asset to us.

  • Ease of use of the system, from setting up meeting rooms by an admin to ease of use for the end-user
  • Upon initial installation, we experienced consistent issues with audio when connecting to a television. The resolution involved changing the default audio output from HDMI to the base unit. I believe the default should be audio through the base unit, so as to eliminate any issues from the start.
  • A compact all-in-one system, to reduce cabling, would be beneficial. We have run into instances of vendors, who are unaware of the Lifesize system, come in and disconnect the cabling in order to connect their laptops for presentations. Color-coded or labeled cabling would help in reconnecting these cables to their proper ports. This is mostly an issue at locations where no local administrator is present.

Using Lifesize Video Conferencing

2 - No particular skills are necessary besides basic troubleshooting skills. Most Issues we experience are from people disconnecting the cabling from the unit and not knowing how to reconnect them properly or not connecting them back at all. Occasionally we experience Internet Connectivity issues with the units, but this is not from any fault of the system.

Evaluating Lifesize Video Conferencing and Competitors

Yes - We relied on other video conferencing tools such as Webex
I would not change the way we evaluated and selected the Lifesize product. We purchased from a 3rd Party Vendor and have no complaints with the support after the sale that we have received.

Lifesize Video Conferencing Implementation

Yes - We were installing several systems at different locations. The initial phase involved the delivery of all of the equipment to the various site, followed up by site to site visits to construct and bring the systems online.

Initially we had some issues with connectivity, but working with my Vendor, we were able to resolve the issues in a timely manner, and I have not had issues since. They are always available to me and very attentive to my needs.

Quick Initial Response
Yes - Yes. Had an issue with the system connecting but not playing audio. Turned out that the default setting was to use the HDMI port on the TV. Switched the default audio to the Lifesize unit and issue was resolved permanently.
I received exceptional service during a time when we were experiencing repeated audio issues with the LifeSize Unit. Support was immediately available and worked with me until the permanent fix was in place. Received a follow up call weeks later to ensure that we were no longer experiencing issues with the units.

Overall usability is good, but sometimes can be cumbersome navigating through the different menu levels.
