Excellent scalable observability solution to support any organisation!
Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor
At SCC we use LogicMonitor as one of the key tools to underpin the delivery of managed services to our customers. We have recently deployed LogicMonitor to support our Public Cloud practice, migrating customers from a number of legacy tools.
LogicMonitor works brilliantly as an MSP tool, providing us with a simple to manage and scalable multi-tenant platform. Over time we anticipate consolidating a number of other legacy tools into this platform to provide a single pane of glass view for our operations teams.
The support from the team at LogicMonitor has been excellent, they are listened to our requests and are actively working on improving the service and adding functionality where we have identified any gaps.
Overall LogicMonitor is an excellent tool to form the basis for our next generation of managed services, moving into the APM and data services arena.

Pros
- Highly scalable solution designed with MSPs in mind
- Excellent single pane of glass and built in dashboards
- API integration allowing MSP's like ourselves to connect LogicMonitor to our own self-service tools
Cons
- The current Public Cloud monitoring relies on a collector to get all the data, the option to move to direct data collection from Public Cloud providers would simplify deployment
- LogicMonitors native ITSM integration has significantly reduced ticket volumes, delivering efficiences for our operations team
- The ability to consolidate multiple tools will improve the customer support experience as we will have a single view of customers environments
We are currently monitoring Public Cloud environments with LogicMonitor, across both Azure and AWS. This includes all elements of a Public Cloud infrastructure from networking, virtual machines, containers and PaaS services.
We plan to roll this tool out to support our private cloud and on premise monitoring in the future.

As an MSP we support our customers with their migration to Cloud, LogicMonitor is the tooling that underpins the managed services we deliver once our customers are in Cloud. To date we are not using LogicMonitor as part of the discovery process for that migration, however this is something we may look at in the future.
LogicMonitors native automation has significantly simplied the onboarding of new customers, with automated discovery of services across devices this has reduced the onboarding time and ensured that all active services within a customer are correctly monitored.
During the evaluation process we looked a number of other solutions, a detailed technically analysis was carried out to map functionlity, deployment and scalabilty across the solutions.
The primary areas that LogicMonitor succeeded are around the simplicity of deployment, scalability and to a lesser extent cost.
Of the alternative products, Datadog is a better solution if your focus is on APM. However it will be harder to manage in a scaling MSP environment.
