Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp for the distribution lists in Marketing. We used these email lists for residents of our apartments communities, retail guests, event guests and commercial tenants and prospects. Obviously, with multiple portfolios, the biggest concern is organization and email management. Mailchimp helped us keep emails and lists clean and organized while giving us a usable and much needed interface that was customer friendly. Building emails within Mailchimp, and even being able to use a bit of our HTML knowledge, make Mailchimp an extremely useful tool in 2020.
  • Organizing of email lists.
  • In-browser email templates.
  • Easy customization of email templates.
  • Scheduling outbound email to particular lists.
  • Data and analytics tracking.
  • More detailed analytics.
  • More bolstering of the current template builder. Need more freedom to build.
  • More freedom in pricing.
  • More attendees at our events with relevant email updates.
  • More informed residents adding to our renewal rates.
  • Leases secured through informational and attractive emails reaching prospect inboxes.
I think these are almost two different tools. Not that either does one thing better than another. Constant Contact gives us "different" tools that we are using in a different way. Hard to compare the two. The only thing I can really call out is the simplicity in Mailchimp. Things are easier to learn therefore you move quickly. Time is money and the more you save, the better.
I think there is always room for improvement. I think the more that Mailchimp grows and attempts to overtake competitors, we'll see the growth of their interactive tools. Every software has those pain-points but at the moment, I can't recall any that would prevent me from using Mailchimp for my email marketing.
For our company, because of specific needs, it wasn't a straight-forward process to integrate everything within Mailchimp. We have specific vendor software for Multi-family and Commercial that Mailchimp can't quite plug into (based on unavailable API). If Mailchimp had one direction it could go, it would be in its adaptation to larger scale API connections, i.e. Yardi.
Mailchimp introduced email marketing in a simple and easy-to-use way. It was teachable, learnable and integrated well with a few of our other products. Our team was integrated into this space with easy-to-use tools, data points and integrations. I would recommend Mailchimp for anyone who is looking to start email marketing but also companies that are already established in that space.
If email marketing is something you're just starting out, Mailchimp is going to be the most user-friendly in my opinion but it also has the capacity to scale with your growth. It may be years before you grow out of its capabilities, but not likely--considering Mailchimp's tools are at the top of their game.
