Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
The entire organization uses Microsoft 365 for nearly everything we do. The continually added features and programs just keep making the suite of products better and better. I always try out the features/programs to see if I can use them in my daily role and have convinced many others to switch how they were doing certain tasks previously to an improved experience.
Pros
- Continually updates with new features.
- The overall suite of programs offers so much choice.
- There are so many resources for help including Microsoft's own Learn site.
- From a small business to a large organization, there are tools for every member to help them and the business succeed.
Cons
- The built in tutorials are sometimes either too vague or too specific.
- Some may find the constant updates frustrating but they only make it better.
- They don't really announce when new apps/programs are added to the suite.
- Sometimes the app names are a little misleading but for the most part, you can grasp a basic idea of what it will do from the name.
- There are the top 4 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) which get used every day.
- PowerBI, PowerApps, SharePoint have become as important or even more important than Word in many respects.
- Constant improvements.
- For me personally, I don't have a way to measure ROI but I can say that PowerApps and PowerBI have changed the way I do things and have increased my connection to the business.
Google Drive and Google Docs I believe is the biggest competitor to Microsoft 365. However, if you really want to unlock the power and potential in your business you need more horsepower behind you and that is what the MS365 suite of products provides. Google Docs is lightweight and while accessible and free it can only do so much. You really owe it to yourself to check out what Microsoft 365 can help you unlock.
