Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Microsoft Teams is being used by our administration staff to collaborate on projects and chat on a daily basis. It helps us quickly communicate, similar to how we had been using Skype Business. The interface is more thorough and allows for more functionality when sharing files from either individual users or teams.

Alternatives Considered

Discord and Skype for Business (formerly Lync)

Skype Business and Discord are both products that I have used. Skype worked well for chatting and sharing files between users, although it was a little more simplified. Discord was similar to Skype, except functioned more like a forum with groups that were able to chat and share files. Microsoft Teams is a combination of both of these programs, and does a good job at encompassing all the functionality that they possess.

Microsoft Teams is an overall good product that allows you to chat and collaborate on files and projects. You have the ability to work individually, as well as in groups. All the information can be secured and locked down if necessary so that only group members can see it. The interface is straightforward and does not require too much training, so that users will be able to adapt to it quickly.
