Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams

For us Teams is the lifeblood of collaboration on a day-to-day basis.
We use it for immediate peer communications, meetings, file sharing, project collaboration and global notifications and management.
Teams allows us to stay connected in a virtual environment and be as unified just as effectively if we were in the office together.
  • Virtual meetings - ease of set up and execution
  • File sharing! We build channels for projects, and being able to invite only project members is huge!
  • Peer-to-peer communications - being able to "ping" one of my colleagues, either text, video or call-only, on-demand, is what runs our business.
  • Collaborating with external project members; the process and functionality is still not obvious, nor is it optimal - I would call it "kludgy"
  • Creating different Channels for projects is still a bit wonky, that area of fleshing out freedom to create new channels in a more open directory metaphor seems lost - everything tends to be too tied to your initial folder permissions which is stifling
  • Scheduling meetings from within Teams - all too often I schedule meetings that include outside collaborators/stakeholders, and they simply never get the invites. I have to copy the meeting info, create a calendar event in Outlook, add in the meeting info, and add the external stakeholders from there. It would seem an easy fix to better integrate Outlook calendar and Teams calendar.
  • ROI is great - we're totally integrated around Teams so we simply could not run our business without
  • Project collaboration is excellent which allows us to bring programs to market faster and with better results
We chose primarily because of the promised integration with the Microsoft Business Suite - which it mostly delivers on. That does give Teams an obvious advantage over competitors. IMHO Teams has a richer, more mature feature set, and the experience is more reliable and stable. Although like any of there there is room for imporvement.
