Miro Review
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
As a Product Manager, I use Miro on a daily basis for everything from brainstorming sessions, conducting retrospectives, to go over features with the legal team, going over GTM plans with the lifecycle marketing team and aligning on front-end and back-end decisions with my engineering team. Miro is truly my favourite tool to work with because of its versatility, I can do everything in one single board and that helps a ton with all my stakeholders and partners.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Facilitates collaboration
- Great templates!
- Helps planning work really well
- Anonymous mode works wonders for retros
Cons
- Adding video links directly (not having to embed them, just copy -paste)
- Automatically add the most used apps
- Recommend templates based on my previous boards and the features I use the most
- Improved productivity
- Better organization overall - all my features have 1 board that contains everything from initial idea to final UI/UX review
- Improved collaboration with legal team (they were used to working with word docs only but Miro has helped tremendously for them to understand what our features are and what they're meant to do)
My team is based in different locations across Canda so Miro helps us stay on track and align on the work that we need to do. Everyone is always able to collaborate, brainstorm together, challenge what's written on the board and reach consensus of what we should or not do next.
- Notion and Atlassian Confluence
I prefer Miro over all the other products I've used for collaboration because it allows me to represent my ideas visually and everyone is able to go back to the board whenever they need to. It is easy to leave comments and suggestions. The only thing I like Notion for is to write my PRDs and Business Cases, so mostly documentation and writing.
