Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro as a virtual project space, mostly for ideating and collaborating for active projects. We also use it as a casual way of achieving design process and ideas for reference - it makes it easier so concepts that got lost on one project can have another shot on a future project. We use it as a quick intro-to-Ford space to help onboard our consultants.

Pros

  • Emojis! Being able to mark ideas with stars, thumbs up, exclamation points, ect helps us vote on concepts. Bluescape doesnt have this feature and when we are forced to use the program it disrupts our process
  • Rescaling of all elements
  • Lots of options for connecting lines and diagrams
  • Comments feature to call attention to those who are needed

Cons

  • Lines that don't need to be connected to things - I know you can hold shift to override that but once they touch an image they get stuck to it. I'd like lines that act more like shapes so we can draw floor plans and such quickly
  • I want gifs to play
  • Maybe a feature where a frame can have versions? Like if there was a drop down to show "concept 1.0" and "concept 1.1" so we can more easily track the changes and progression? Right now we just copy and paste everything to a new frame or just delete the comments, but that loses the version history
  • Quicker collaboration and project cadence
  • Quicker approvals, not making everything into a formal deck because we can get on-demand feedback
  • Increased creativity and consistency across projects
N/A although as a user it can be difficult to share the board with people outside our team. We work with consultants constantly and we are always exporting PDFs rather than the full board due to limitations.
NA - not involved in this question and your program wont let me skip without answering. Real answer is "?"
We live in Miro. With a team spread across the country and globe, this is a shared space where we can all actually "see" each other working. There's something nice about not being alone in a board

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Ford uses Bluescape as the company standard. Designers use Miro because its better. We wish it was the company standard. The only nice thing about Bluescape is the ability to connect with our Bluescape monitors seamlessly.
As a creative, Miro suits me very well. I have found use for it in less-creative approaches, which my colleagues that are not designers have been impressed by. They called Miro trash until I showed them how I use it for informal project management. I think expanding templates for less design and more "bullet journals", visual calendars or other simple applications would help people get more comfortable with the program.

Also, dont limit text box lengths!
